The latest CBS Sports college basketball Top 25 and 1 rankings are here from Garry Parrish and there’s a new No. 1 team.

Purdue defeated Arizona over the weekend and changed up the top tier of basketball teams. It looks like the Boilermakers are back in the driver’s seat.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the latest Top 25 and 1 rankings, via CBS Sports.

1. Purdue (10-1)

The biggest win of the weekend came from the Boilermakers. They knocked off the AP’s No. 1 team 92-84 after building an 11-point lead at halftime.

Three guys score over 20 points: Fletcher Loyer (27), Braden Smith (26) and Zach Edey (22) and if that’s the case nightly, this team could be impossible to beat. The question remains though: can Purdue maintain its No. 1 ranking?

2. Kansas (10-1)

The Jayhawks edged out Indiana 75-71 after trailing at halftime. Heck, Bill Self and company were down by eight going into the locker room.

But great teams always find an answer. Kevin McCullar Jr. put up 21 points, six rebounds and four assists. Hunter Dickinson added 17 points, 14 rebounds and one assist.

3. Houston (11-0)

It was a close call, but the Cougars got it done over Texas A&M (7-4). The Aggies are actually the No. 26 team in this poll. Houston built a 15 point lead at halftime and cruised to the 70-66 win.

Emmanuel Sharp put up 21 points and six rebounds. LJ Cryer definitely helped the cause with 17 points, three rebounds and one assist. Houston remained undefeated with the win and is a third of the way to a perfect season.

4. UConn (8-1)

The Huskies earned a hard-fought victory over Gonzaga in one of the games of the weekend. UConn jumped out to a double digit lead at half and won 76-63.

It wasn’t the best day for the Wildcats, who dropped their first game of the season 92-84 to Purdue. The previous No. 1 team won’t be No. 1 anymore

Arizona received a banner day from Caleb Love, who had 29 points, six rebounds and three assists. Keshad Johnson also had 24 points, eight rebounds and two assists, but it wasn’t enough against Purdue’s big three.

6. Marquette (9-2)

7. Tennessee (8-3)

The Volunteers improved to 8-3 on the season with a 79-70 win over NC State on Sunday and had a one-two punch from Josiah-Jordan James and Zakai Ziegler.

The combo scored 23 and 20 points, respectively. If they are that dangerous, this team can be dangerous, but they’ll need additional contributions.

8. Illinois (7-2)

Illinois has been inactive since the loss to the aforementioned Tennessee back on December 9th. The rankings were updated prior to Sunday’s game against Colgate.
Either way, Illinois is one of the more impressive teams in the Big Ten. As long as guys like Terrence Shannon Jr. and Quincy Guerrier are productive, this team can compete at a really high level.

9. Oklahoma (10-0)

The Sooners continued their impressive start to the year with a dominant 81-47 win over Green Bay. It was one of those cruise control type of wins to keep the undefeated season going.

But next is an even bigger challenge. The Sooners travel to take on North Carolina Wednesday. We’ll see how for real this team is after that game.

10. Florida Atlantic (9-2)

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

The Owls improved to 9-2 on the season with a 10-point win, 64-54, over St. Bonaventure Sunday. It wasn’t the prettiest, but FAU got it done.

Johnell Davis led the way with 16 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Vladislav Goldin was the only other Owl in double figures with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Remaining Top 25 and 1

13. Baylor (9-1)
14. Gonzaga (8-3)
15. Colorado State (9-1)
16. BYU (10-1)
