Alabama went into the Fertitta Center on Saturday evening and came back from 15 down to defeat the top-ranked and then-undefeated Cougars. They did so without a strong showing from five-star freshman Brandon Miller, who shot 0-8 on the day. It wasn’t just a big win for the Tide but it was a historic one too as it’s only the second time a team has beaten two No. 1 squads before the turn of the year
As for Arizona, they handed the Hoosiers their second loss following this 14-point victory in the Las Vegas Clash. Azuolas Tubelis led four Wildcat starters who scored double-digit points during the win. Arizona shot 49.2% from the field and outrebounded Indiana by 10 to get their eighth overall victory of the year.

In Illinois’ case, they had their head coach Brad Underwood fuming mad following their losing effort against the Nittany Lions in Champaign. They bounced back after a loss to Maryland with a very impressive win over Texas. They followed that with this uninspiring performance, though, that was a culmination of a bad few days for the team according to Underwood.
There’s a lot of time left to either double down on these big moments or correct these mistakes. CBS’ next update will almost certainly reflect that. With that said, these outcomes, good or dreadful as they may be, are just as important as the end of the season as each of these teams works their way toward conference play.
