The first half of this week has already provided some exciting college basketball matchups and action as the non-conference schedule gets closer and closer to its end for most programs.

As a result, CBS Sports has released their early week Top 25 and 1 rankings presented by Gary Parrish.

The top three teams remain the same in Parrish’s eyes, but after that, there was plenty of movement in the rankings amongst college basketball’s elite programs following some impressive wins and disappointing losses. Check out CBS Sports’ latest Top 25 and 1 rankings below.

1. Purdue (10-1)

The Purdue Boilermakers occupy the nation’s top spot following an impressive 92-84 over Arizona in the Indy Classic on Saturday. Purdue entered that matchup as the No. 3 ranked team in the AP Poll and left taking the No. 1 spot from the Wildcats.

Center Zach Edey has been leading the charge for Purdue, averaging 24.5 points per game which ranks second in the entire country. But Fletcher Loyer‘s 27 points and four steals versus Arizona stood out the most in the Boilermakers’ most recent victory.

2. Kansas (10-1)

The Jayhawks remain in the No. 2 spot in CBS’ rankings following their 75-71 win at Indiana on Saturday. Which also served as a homecoming for center Hunter Dickinson, who faced his first Big Ten opponent since transferring this offseason from Michigan.

Dickinson maintained his status as the nation’s top rebounder after grabbing 14 boards against the Hoosiers. With Kevin McCullar leading the charge scoring 21 points on the day in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

3. Houston (11-0)

Houston stays ranked as the No. 3 team in the rankings and stayed undefeated this weekend, defeating Texas A&M 70-66 on Saturday.

The Cougars have kept their record flawless early in the season thanks to their strong defense, leading the nation in points allowed holding opponents to just 51.2 points per game. They stay in state and take on Texas State in their next matchup on Thursday.

4. Arizona (9-1)

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Wildcats jumped up one spot in the rankings following their loss to Purdue, redeeming themselves with an 87-74 win over Alabama on Wednesday.

Scoring has come easy for Arizona, ranking second in the nation in points per game averaging 92.3 points per contest. Transfer Caleb Love has led the team’s scoring surge with 15.5 points per game, and will surely need to bring his a-game as the team takes on FAU in their next matchup, who also appears in CBS’ top 10.

5. Tennessee (8-3)

Daniel Dunn-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee also jumped up one spot in the CBS Sports rankings following their 79-70 win over NC State. Representing the top-ranked SEC team in the standings.

The Vols’ win over the Wolfpack marked their fourth straight following a disappointing three-game losing streak against ranked opponents, as Rick Barnes and his squad seem to be heating up just at the right time just two games away from their SEC schedule.

6. Illinois (8-2)

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Illinois celebrated a dominant win in their last matchup on Sunday, defeating Colgate at home, 74-57. Terrence Shannon has led the team in scoring in six of their first 10 games, but Coleman Hawkins took over versus Colgate with a team-high 16 points.

The Fighting Illini were able to bounce back from their loss to Tennessee, but they face another SEC opponent in their next matchup when they take on Mizzou in St. Louis.

7. UConn (10-2)

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Connecticut drops three spots in the rankings following their 75-60 loss at Seton Hall on Wednesday.

The loss represented just the second of the season for the defending national champions, falling to Kansas earlier in the year in the Big East-Big 12 Battle. But they still boast a whopping four wins versus ranked opponents this season and will look to get back on track versus St. John‘s in their next game.

8. Memphis (9-2)

Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

Memphis rattled off their third straight win versus a ranked opponent on Tuesday after dominating Virginia 77-54 at home.

The Tigers also defeated Clemson and Texas A&M in their two prior games, with David Jones leading the team in scoring for a seventh straight game after scoring 26 against the Cavaliers. Memphis will look to take down another Power Five opponent on Saturday as they take on Vanderbilt.

9. Marquette (9-3)

Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

Marquette suffered a 72-57 loss to Providence on Tuesday, but still managed to move up a spot in the CBS power rankings.

The Golden Eagles shot abysmally from the field on Tuesday, making just 20% of their shots from the field. But hopefully, they can bounce back in their next matchup, as they face a Georgetown team on Friday who also dropped their first conference game of the season versus Butler.

10. Florida Atlantic (9-2)

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Rounding out the top 10 is FAU, fresh off of a 64-54 win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday.

Owls star guard Johnell Davis ended the game as the team’s leading scorer, rebounder, and passer with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Next up for Florida Atlantic is a date versus Arizona in the Desert Holiday Classic on Saturday, with a win more than likely securing them a rise in the rankings.
