Central Michigan QB Bert Emanuel Jr. plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Central Michigan quarterback Bert Emanuel Jr. plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced in his Twitter post on Thursday evening. This year, he completed four of six passes for 99 passing yards, while tossing in two touchdowns and no interceptions. In 2023, he completed 19 of his 37 passes for 286 passing yards, while tossing in three touchdowns with three interceptions.

“After much prayer and deep conversations with coaches, mentors, and God, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal, with three years of eligibility remaining. This decision brings a mix of excitement and nervousness, as I embark on a new chapter of my life. I trust that wherever I land is a place God has already prepared for me,” Emanuel wrote in his post.
“Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord.” I hold on to this promise as I step into the unknown, eager to see what lies ahead for me as a quarterback.” Emanuel continued.
“To the Chippewa Fam, thank you for welcoming this Texas boy into your hearts and making me feel at home in Michigan. Your unwavering love and support have meant the world to me, and I will carry those memories with me as I move forward. My story isn’t over yet, and I’m excited for the adventures that wait,” Emanuel finished.

Emanuel is the son of Bert Emanuel–a former wide receiver in the National Football League. His father played for the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and the Detroit Lions. Over the course of his NFL career, Emanuel hauled in 351 catches for 4,852 receiving yards and 28 total touchdowns.
Bert Emanuel Jr. played his high school football for Ridge Point (Missouri City, Texas), where he was tabbed as the No. 1,457 overall prospect in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also ranked as the No. 92 overall quarterback in the country.
