2027 DB Charles Woodson Jr. has his first two scholarship offers to consider
Orlando (Fla.) Lake Nona 2027 safety Charles Woodson Jr. picked up his first two offers of the process on Wednesday.
The talented sophomore now has opportunities from Syracuse and Delaware to consider.
There will be more down the road.
“Charles embodies the qualities every coach looks for in a standout player,” Lake Nona head coach David Aubrey said. “Natural talent, strong work ethic, and leadership skills.
“His commitment to our program and teammates is a testament to both his character and the culture we are building at Lake Nona High School. Highlighting players like Charles not only reflects his growth but also reinforces the positive trajectory of our football program.”
As a sophomore at Lake Nona this season, Woodson Jr. recorded 53 tackles, two pass breakups, one interception and a fumble recovery. Lake Nona finished 7-4, falling to Vero Beach in the first round of the Florida 7A playoffs.
The Syracuse offer is intriguing for Woodson. The Orange are coming off a 10-win campaign in head coach Fran Brown’s first year at the helm.

“It is very exciting getting an offer from Syracuse a P4 school,” Woodson said. “And it feels crazy that they offered me. Looking at the season they just had it’s crazy. What excites me the most is just hearing about their culture and the way they do things there.”
Woodson is the son of NFL Hall of Famer, College Football Hall of Famer, Heisman Trophy Winner, NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Super Bowl Champion and NCAA National Champion Charles Woodson. Now it’s the younger Woodson’s turn.
“Charles is an exceptional talent with the instincts and skills that set him apart on the field,” Aubrey said. “His ability to play downhill with intensity, combined with his range to cover sideline to sideline, makes him a versatile and impactful player. His football IQ, undoubtedly influenced by his lineage from the legendary Charles Woodson, shines through in his understanding of the game. With his natural ability, work ethic, and eagerness to grow, his potential is limitless. It’s exciting to see how he continues to develop as a cornerstone of our program.”
