As conference championships take place across the country, seeding for the NCAA Tournament is still up for grabs. That includes out in the Big 12 and Pac-12 with three teams potentially feeling an impact from upcoming games.

Charlie Creme, the bracketologist for the women’s bracket at ESPN, recently updated the potential seeds of Texas, USC, and Oklahoma. He did so at halftime of LSU vs. South Carolina on Sunday afternoon in the SEC Championship. In his eyes, the Longhorns and Trojans will be fighting one another for the last of the four No. 1 seeds. It depends on how one does in the Big 12 semis against Kansas State. It’ll also depend and how the other does in the Pac-12 Championship against Stanford.

“Texas is playing for a one seed if USC gives them the room there by losing in the Pac-12 final,” said Creme.

Texas is 28-4 after their win in the quarterfinals over Kansas on Saturday. They will now play the Wildcats tomorrow evening for a possible spot in the Big 12 Championship on Monday.

That leaves them in a spot where they’ll be watching USC in Las Vegas tonight. The Trojans (25-5) advanced on Friday after defeating UCLA in the semifinals out in the Pac-12. Now, later this evening, they will hold their No. 1 seed hopes in their own hands against another top seed.

As for Oklahoma, the Sooners (22-8) are the top seed out in Kansas City. They will play in the opposite semifinal of Texas and K-State against Iowa State on Monday afternoon. While they’re a few spots lower overall, Creme has OU playing to solidify a top-four seed in the NCAA Tournament.

“Oklahoma is right on the fringe — in the Top-16 but No. 16,” Creme said. “Need to at least get to the final to hold onto that spot.”

There’s plenty of jockeying and score-watching left to do in order to see who ends up in what spot of the bracket come next weekend. That’s especially so with significant tournament games left to go for top teams out in the Big 12 and Pac-12 tonight and over the next few days.
