One of the most productive players in the American Athletic Conference is headed to Creighton. Charlotte guard Nik Graves is making the move via the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Graves is coming off a monster season with the 49ers. He averaged 17.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game during the 2024-25 campaign.

In addition, Nik Graves was a reliable every night starter. He started 33 games in his 33 appearances for Charlotte this season.

Graves thoroughly ramped up his production in his third season at Charlotte. He wasn’t all that productive as a freshman, though he quickly grew into his own while playing in the state of North Carolina in the ensuing two years.

As a freshman, Graves did not start a game, seeing action in 22 contests. He averaged just 8.4 minutes per game, turning in per-game averages of 1.6 points, 0.8 assists and 0.5 rebounds.

The 6-foot-3 guard then increased those numbers as a full-time starter as a sophomore. He made 30 starts and averaged 10.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists.

Throughout his career, Graves’ shooting percentages have been fairly consistent. He shoots 33.0% from 3-point range and 42.8% from the floor. Meanwhile, he shoots free throws at a 77.3% clip. And he gets to the line a lot; in 2024-25, Nik Graves made it to the charity stripe 233 times.

All of that will make him a quality addition for Creighton, which has had its share of departures from an NCAA Tournament squad this season. One of them was a player with a very famous father.

Creighton loses Mason Miller to the portal

While Creighton has now added Nik Graves, it has also lost some players to the portal. One is contributor Mason Miller. He is the son of former Florida star and two-time NBA champion Mike Miller.

Miller is coming off his third season with the Bluejays. He was mainly a contributor off the bench, having spent the previous season as a full-time starter at Creighton.

Mason Miller averaged just 1.1 points and 1.6 rebounds per game while averaging 11.7 minutes per contest. He started in just four of the team’s 32 games this season.

That comes one year after Miller was much more involved for the perennial NCAA Tournament contenders. In 2023-24, Miller started all 33 of his team’s games. During that time, he averaged 5.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Miller also shot a blistering 45.4% from 3-point range during that season.
