4-star TE Chase Loftin set for a busy slate of spring visits
The top recruit in Nebraska is ready to get on the road, and Chase Loftin will be doing plenty of that in the next six weeks.
The four-star tight end out of Omaha (Neb.) Millard North is set for five unofficial visits between now and mid-April, he told HuskerOnline.com’s Sean Callahan.
Oklahoma will host the nation’s No. 268 prospect on March 4, then he will make stops Nebraska (March 24), Texas A&M (March 30), Miami (April 9) and Florida State (April 12).
The in-state Huskers and the Sooners have been frequent destinations for him, but he’ll be making his first trips to Tallahassee and Coral Gables when he heads there on the second weekend in April.
Loftin coming off visits to USC and Nebraska in January
The 6-foot-5, 213-pounder has already been on the road in the new year, tripping out to Los Angeles to visit USC for its junior day and stopping in Lincoln to see the Huskers as well.
“I am trying to find the best spot for me and where I feel like I am going to be the most successful when I am on these trips,” Loftin told HuskerOnline’s Bryan Munson.
During his most recent stop at Nebraska, he got a chance to meet new offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Marcus Satterfield. Loftin knew coach Satterfield before he took over tight ends, but he had an opportunity to start the relationship with him during his visit.

“They introduced me to Coach Satt, who is the new position coach for the tight ends,” Loftin said. “I knew him a little bit from before. We really just started to build the relationship this weekend. I really like him. He’s a great guy.
… There has been a little curveball to the tight ends position coach, and coach Martin stepped up to fill that role, and after the season was done, he went back. I really like all of the coaches.”
Soon after, he visited both USC and Alabama, where he got to meet the Crimson Tide’s new coaching staff.
“It was a great place,” Loftin told BamaOnLine’s Joseph Hastings. “I had a lot of fun and could definitely see myself coming back soon! I liked [Coach Nick Sheridan] a lot! He seems like a great coach and I definitely think he is going to be great!”
