WATCH: Cheerleader ejected after confronting player on court during Division I game

You truly never know what’s going to happen on a given day in sports. On Saturday night, we saw the rare occasion of a cheerleader getting ejected during a Division I game between Mississippi Valley State and Alabama A&M.

There was some sort of an incident between a Mississippi Valley State cheerleader and a player from the Alabama A&M Bulldogs. The MVSU cheerleader then decided to walk out onto the floor during the game, which drew the ejection from officials.

The police officer can be seen at the end of the video beginning to escort the cheerleader away from the court. Check out the video below. The announcers had a hard time trying to figure out what was happening.

This has to be one of the few times a cheerleader has ever been ejected from a college basketball game

It is an extremely rare event that you see a cheerleader get ejected from a Division I basketball game. But hey, anything can happen. Everything is recorded nowadays with social media, and it seems like the world just gets wilder by the minute.

Alabama A&M ended up winning the game 70-68, in a double overtime thriller. Dailin Smith led Alabama A&M with 20 points and five rebounds in 38 minutes of work. He’s been averaging 10.3 points, 2.5 points, and 1.1 assists per game for the Bulldogs this year.

Both teams shot poorly from beyond-the-arc in Saturday’s game. Each team shot below 16% from three-point range. The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils had three players score in double figures–Stredic, Mosley, and Collins. Mosley was their leading scorer–pouring in 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field.

MVSU currently sits at 3-23 overall and 2-10 in conference play. Alabama A&M currently sits at 10-15 overall and 6-6 in conference. Earlier in the season, Alabama A&M lost to Ohio State and Illinois.
