4-star Chris Cenac talks Memphis, LSU, and Houston
Chris Cenac came in at No. 69 in the recent 2025 On3 150 ranking update. The 6-foot-9 forward from New Orleans (LA) Isadore Newman, played up in age with his LivOn 17u program during Nike’s Peach Invitational Tournament. Cenac averaged 10.8 points and 7.0 rebounds during Peach Jam week.
“I’m very versatile, can play inside and out,” Cenac told On3. “I am a good three-point shooter. I watch a lot of Anthony Davis, you know, versatile players. He can post up anybody or face up and shoot it. I try to have a versatile game and try to be different.”
On3 caught up with four-star Chris Cenac after a recent live viewing to talk about his recruitment.
Cenac talks recruitment
“I don’t have any visits set yet, but I know I’m going to take some coming up,” Cenac said. “I’d say I’m hearing the most from Houston and LSU right now. Memphis too.”
LSU: “I have a great relationship with the staff. I’m already planning to be at some of their games this season. They like my versatility, they think I fit in with how they want their forwards to be able to play, inside and out.”

Houston: “They have a great staff, and they keep in consistent contact. Coach (Kelvin) Sampson is a great coach, a Hall of Famer. And they had a guy (Jarace Walker) get drafted this year.”
Memphis: “I got to meet the staff when I went up to the campus. I got to hang out with the staff a little and get to know them some. Great staff. They have a big campus, it is very nice and clean.”
“I’ve heard some from Ohio State and some others, too,” Cenac said.
At the end of the day…
“I’m going to look at the relationships I build with the staff,” Cenac said. “I feel like that will be the most important piece for me. Also, obviously, playing time is going to matter; I want the opportunity to play early too.”
