Chris Hilton injury update: Brian Kelly reveals LSU WR's status vs. UCLA
The LSU Tigers were keeping their fingers cross for a healthy 2024 for their speedy wideout, Chris Hilton, Jr. Unfortunately, he’s been battling an ankle injury in the early part of the season and he’s missed their first three games.
They did get some good news on Thursday evening, after Brian Kelly updated his status in his press conference. Coach Kelly said Hilton is probable to play in their Week 4 matchup vs. UCLA.
If Hilton does play, he’ll slide in the rotation along with starters Kyren Lacy and CJ Daniels.
Hilton has battled injuries for the past few seasons, but has flashed explosiveness when healthy. Tiger fans certainly hope he can manage to stay healthy and emerge as a productive weapon in 2024.
The past two years for the Tigers, he’s hauled in 22 catches for 415 yards and three touchdowns. His career high for receiving yards in a single game is 81, when he did that against Kansas State in the 2022 Texas Bowl.

When healthy, Hilton is one of the fastest players in college football and he’s expected to be a major weapon in the LSU passing attack. This is his fourth year in Baton Rouge.
A dynamic athlete coming out of high school, Hilton was a two-sport standout at Zachary High School (Zachary, Louisiana). As a junior in 2019, Hilton hauled in 43 catches for 846 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he caught a screen pass and took it 80-yards for a game-winning touchdown in Zachary’s 5A state title victory in 2018 over West Monroe.
As a senior on the track, he claimed the 5A state title in both the 400-meters and the high jump. Hilton also won the state championship in indoor track as a sophomore and freshman.
