4-star Christian Nitu breaks down his recruitment
Christian Nitu debuted at No. 104 in the updated 2024 On3 150. The 6-foot-10 forward from Fort Erie (CAN) Fort Erie International played in the u17 World Cup this summer with the Canadian National Team, where the four-star averaged seven points per game.
“I’m really versatile for my size,” Nitu told On3. “I can pass, shoot, and dribble, whatever you need me to do, rebound and push the pace. I’ll watch a lot of big playmaking wings and bigs that run rim to rim. I watch guys like Kristaps Porzingas, Jayson Tatum, Dirk Nowitzki, a lot of guys who can face up and get to their spots.”
College programs have taken notice of the Toronto native. On3 caught up with Christian Nitu after a recent live viewing to talk about his recruitment
Nitu talks recruitment
“I currently have offers from TCU, Mississippi State, and Creighton,” NItu said. “I got some others too, but I probably hear from them the most.”
Mississippi State: “We talk a lot about time coming in and being an immediate impact. They are having guys at my position leaving, so we talk about coming in and doing damage.”
TCU: “I know they’re big and physical. It would be good for me to get in there with their strength and conditioning and really take my game to the next level. They like their bigs to be versatile, and they give them freedom, too, which I like.

Creighton: “They have a really good system. Offensively I can just snap in and play on the wing or play inside/out. That’s really what it is for me; I want to play in a system that will let me play inside and out.”
“I’ve heard from Florida State, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State; they haven’t offered yet,” Nitu said.
In Nitu’s words
“My decision will be all about fit,” Nitu said. “How I fit with the school academically, how I fit on the court, how I like the location. That is what I’ll be looking at most on my visits. Fit will be everything.
“I need to find that right coach, the right system that will let me flourish. Trust is going to be big for me; I like to have freedom on the floor in a program and a system that will let me rock. I don’t want to go to a school that is just going to have to play me inside because I’m tall. I want to play out of the short roll, grab the rebound and go, face up and take my man off the bounce, and finish around the basket.”
