4-star SF Chuck Love updates recruitment; talks Missouri, Illinois, and more
Chuck Love is No. 53 in the updated 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. The 6-foot-7 forward had a breakout summer on Nike’s EYBL Circuit and transferred to play this season at La Porte (IN) La Lumiere School on Nike’s EYBL Scholastic Series.
“I’m a three-and-D guy,” Love told On3. “I take a lot of pride in defense and I can shoot the ball and make winning plays for my team. My confidence has really shot up this season. I watch a lot of Kevin Durant. He has always been one of my favorite players. I feel like we have a similar body frame and I want to model my game a little after his.”
On3 caught up with four-star Chuck Love after a recent live viewing to get an updated look at his recruitment.
“I have not taken any official visits yet, and I don’t have any setup, yet,” Love said. “I would say I’m hearing the most from Missouri and Illinois right now. It’s some others too, but those two are pretty consistent,”
Love Talks Recruitment
MISSOURI: “We have a great relationship. That is one of the most important things for me, building a relationship. I feel like the staff at Missouri has done a really good job of talking with me and encouraging me, and overall just showing love really.

“Watching them play, I feel like they like to get down and hoop. I really like that.”
ILLINOIS: “I talk a lot with Coch (Chester) Frazier, over there. He shows me a lot of love. Coach Frazier is very encouraging and we’re building a good relationship. I like that he’s always showing love.
“I feel like they’re a really physical team that plays defense. With my defense, I feel like I could fit right in there and be a shotmaker and a defender for them.”
In Love’s Words
Right now I’m focused on winning Geico, getting this championship,” Love said. “So after this season, I’m going to start narrowing things down and going on visits, seeing what I like.
“I want to play for a coach who believes in me as much as I believe in myself. I also want to be around a lot of winners. Winning is big for me. Education is also big for me, my mom is always on me about that. I’d like to study something like Sports Science in college.”
