Covington (Ga.) Alcovy defensive lineman Timothy Griffin is closing in on a decision. Over a dozen schools have offered the 6-foot-5, 255-pound three-star and he is going to choose between three schools next month.

“I am down to Cincinnati, Florida State and Ole Miss and I will be committing on Nov. 23,” Griffin told On3. “These three schools are strong great interest in me and that is why I like them the most. The coaches talk to me a lot, they like how versatile I am and I like these three schools the most.”

Griffin was at Cincinnati for the Houston game earlier this season. He will be back for an official visit on Nov. 9. He visited Florida State on Oct. 5 and that is when the Seminoles offered. An official visit date is being discussed.

Ole Miss stopped by Alcovy to check on Griffin recently and a visit to Oxford is set for Nov. 29. That puts his first visit to Ole Miss after his commitment.

When he makes his decision, what is Griffin looking for in a school?

“It will be a mixture of development and relationships for me,” Griffin said. “Relationships are important because the closer you are, the more you want to follow. You have faith in the coaches because of the faith they have in you. Then, it is about development. I have a lot of developing to do, so where I see the best me at that is where I am going.”

Griffin talks Cincinnati, Florida State and Ole Miss

Cincinnati: “From the moment they offered me, coach Walter Stewart has done more than recruit me. He wants to be a factor in my life. If he coaches me in the future, I know our bond will be great. He reaches out every other day and shows a lot of love. Coach Scott Satterfield does too. We talk often. I like how they are building new facilities and getting better too.”

Florida State: “I had a great time at the Clemson game when I got the offer. Florida State is a great program and coach Odell Haggins has been coaching there for 31 years. He loves what he is doing and he loves doing it at Florida State. He is a great coach, he has produced guys for the NFL and kids believe in him.”

Ole Miss: “I haven’t been to Ole Miss yet, but they came to see me. That meant a lot. Coach Randall Joyner sat down with me for about an hour and broke things down to me. We talked about Ole Miss, he told me a lot about the school and it was great. Coach Lane Kiffin has been texting me too. He tells me he wants me at Ole Miss and he sees me playing there. They offered me in September, coach Joyner came to see me and I like the vibe so far.”
