Denzel Aberdeen & Dr. Phillips get the easy win over Charlotte

Two days ago when Dr. Phillips took on North Little Rock, Denzel Aberdeen did not shoot the ball very well. Today was a completely different story. The Florida signee finished 9-of-10 from the field, and 6-of-7 from three, for a team-high 24 points. Mississippi State Riley Kugel signee once again had himself a game with 20 points, on 57% from the field.

Dr. Phillips went on to get the win over Charlotte with a final score of 80-48.

Miami Norland vs Choctawhatchee

Choctawhatchee’s Asa Newell and Miami Norland’s Marcus Allen were the two sophomore studs in this matchup. Both show tremendous upside as members of the 2024 class.

Asa Newell has phenomenal length at 6-foot-8. He’s athletic and quick with a long, thin frame but gets in the paint and battles for rebounds for his team. He finished with an astonishing 17 boards. He also showed us he can knock down the outside shot, capable of playing on the wing, and has a decent handle on the ball. He’s still young and he showed that at times, as he’s still trying to find his place on the court. Once he realizes what he’s capable of (and continues to develop), it will get scary. Newell holds early offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma State, amongst others. Newell finished with a team-high 16 points.

Marcus Allen is best as a slasher and is working towards becoming more of a point-forward type prospect. I like his court vision and seems to make the right read/pass a high percentage of the time. He also has nice defensive instincts and is so scrappy. I love his energy. Allen finished with 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, and four assists.

Life Christian slides by with a win against Tampa Catholic

Angel Montas was incredibly for Life Christian today. He’s a 6-foot-5, strong, big-bodied guard who’s like a freight train heading to the rim. He can also give his defender a little dance on the wing to create enough space so he can get a shot off. Also has great defensive capabilities, with some sneaky bounce. He finished with a team-high 30 points, seven rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Montas has taken visits with Iona and Fordham but also holds offers from Tennessee, Illinois, SMU, amongst others.

Hansel Enmanuel‘s one arm doesn’t stop him from making an impact on the game, and putting on a show for the fans. He wows the crowd with his reverse layups, knock-down threes, high-flying dunks, dribbling through a defender’s legs, and much more. Everyone in the audience loves this kid. He finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists, and two steals. Breylin Garcia also had a strong game with 16 points.

For Tampa Catholic, Eddrin Bronson led the way for his squad with 23 points, on 8-of-13 from the field, and 4-of-6 from three-point land. He also had five rebounds and three assists. He couldn’t be stopped going to the rim and he’s crafty with his finishes.

Milton escapes with a win against Calvary Christian

Ohio State signee Bruce Thornton and Northeastern bound guard Chase Cormier led the way for Milton. Thornton finished with 22 points in front of his future head coach, Chris Holtmann. Cormier finished with 19.

Five-star junior Kanaan Carlyle plays with so much effort on both sides of the ball, even when the game is not going his way.

Calvary Christian’s Marvel Allen is a scoring point guard and led his team with 18 points and seven rebounds. He has a quick first step and knows how to get to the rim.

Blowouts the final two games

On the second to last game of the evening, Montverde took on Orlando Christian Prep and it was a blood bath, to be blunt. With a final score of 75-34, there was a running clock towards the end of the third quarter. Dariq Whitehead lead Montverde in scoring with 18 points, and was impressive from three-point range, on 5-of-8 from deep.

On the final game of the evening, IMG defeated North Little Rock, 80 to 59. IMG was led by Eric Dailey, who finished with 17 points, and seven rebounds. Jarace Walker got going as well and finished with 16.

North Little Rock’s big man Kel’el Ware had a tremendous game with a team-high 22 points, and 18 rebounds.
