Report: Notre Dame QB commit CJ Carr to visit Texas A&M
Saline (Mich.) four-star quarterback and Notre Dame commit CJ Carr will visit Texas A&M according to reports.
Sources tell Blue and Gold’s Mike Singer that Carr is making the trip to Texas A&M with his 7v7 team. He previously did the same in January with a visit to Washington when the team was in the area for a tournament.
Carr is the No. 48 overall prospect and No. 6 quarterback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Michigan.
The grandson of legendary Michigan coach Lloyd Carr, CJ has been committed to Notre Dame since June 9 and had been recruited by former Notre Dame Offensive Coordinator Tommy Rees.
Once it was announced that Rees was leaving Notre Dame to be Alabama’s offensive coordinator, CJ told On3’s Chad Simmons that he was locked in with his commitment to Notre Dame despite Rees’ departure.

He also told Simmons that he was “100% confident” in Freeman’s vision for Notre Dame.
“This won’t change anything,” CJ told On3. “I’m locked in with my ’24 guys. We’ve already built such a hot start on the recruiting trail and we’re excited to keep building.”
CJ is the only quarterback commitment in Notre Dame’s 2024 class. The Fighting Irish’s class ranks as the No. 5 class in the country with eight commitments.
Texas A&M currently has the No. 16 class in the country with four commitments. One of those commitments is three-star quarterback Anthony Maddox.
CJ Carr Scouting Summary
The following is an On3 Scouting Report on CJ Carr:
“Polished, productive quarterback with the ability to make plays in and out of the offense’s structure. Has an easy, natural release. Gets the ball out quick and can deliver from off platform. Makes small window throws against tight coverage on Friday nights. Has good feet and shows reactive quickness in the pocket. Has the quickness to escape the pass rush. Makes some improvisational plays. Had a productive junior season, completing 64 percent of his passes for nearly 2,700 yards, 28 touchdowns against 4 interceptions in 10 games. Developed and polished in the camp setting. Measured around 6-foot-2, 190 pounds prior to the 2022 season. Shows a good arm at this stage, but has room to add velocity to his intermediate throws as he continues to develop as a high school quarterback.”
