Fast-rising SG CJ Ingram names top 10 schools
CJ Ingram has seen his world change entirely over the last couple of months. Up until recently, the 6-foot-6 rising senior out of Oak Ridge High (FL) had been primarily viewed as a football recruit and had received several low to mid-major D1 offers. However, Ingram recently made the decision to focus solely on basketball and it’s starting to pay off. He burst onto the scene this summer playing with FL Rebels on the EYBL Circuit and is now a name to know in the 2025 class.
Up until May of this year, Ingram only had two basketball scholarships — Samford and FAMU.
Well, now he has 22 total offers and the shooting guard has cut his list to 10 programs: Georgetown, Georgia, Florida, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Pitt, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.
Currently ranked 143rd nationally by On3, Ingram is expected to make a significant jump in the next 2025 update. He’s also the son of former Florida and NFL tight end Cornelius Ingram.
Ingram gives his thoughts on several programs in the mix
On3’s Jamie Shaw caught up with CJ Ingram at Peach Jam to get the latest in his recruitment.
Three main schools are trying to get Ingram on campus for official visits, according to Ingram — Kansas, Georgia, and Michigan. Up to this point, he’s only visited Florida.
Kansas: “Coach Self has obviously put guys in the league and he has the most wins. It’s a blue blood school so it really shows the work I’ve been putting in. It’s a really successful program and I’m just looking forward to going on a visit there.”

Georgia: “A lot of the time, the assistants want to talk, but I talk to coach Mike (White) the most. That pretty much shows how much a head coach really wants you. He’s telling me how I can fit in, play right away, even be a starter. Also, their player development with Anthony Edwards and how he had Tre Mann at Florida.”
Michigan: “Coach Dusty. Like I said, when the head coach talks to you, that shows how much they want you. I’ve been talking to coach Dusty and when he was at FAU, I used to watch their games. They had a Final Four run not too long ago so I was tuning in to watch their pace and how they play. His coaching staff went with him (to Michigan) so that shows his character and I’m looking forward to going over there (to visit) too.”
Ingram says he is open to visit other programs as well.
“Pretty much every school wants me to come visit,” he said.
What he’s looking for in a school
“Just being able to be myself. How I fit in, where I can play free, and wherever feels like home. Somewhere where my parents can trust where I’m at and the coaching staff. That’s the biggest thing, being able to trust them. Becoming a better man on and off the court. Definitely a team that plays fast.”
