2026 4-star CB Chaston Smith logs game visit to Clemson
Clemson did not get the result it was after on Saturday in a 33-21 loss at home to Louisville, but the Tigers still had a chance to make an impression on some top prospects that were in attendance.
Knoxville (Tenn.) McCallie School four-star cornerback Chaston Smith was one of the top juniors in Death Valley this weekend. The 6-foot-1, 145-pounder has been on the ACC campus before, but this time he was delivered a classic atmosphere inside Memorial Stadium, despite the loss.
Smith was able to spend time around head coach Dabo Swinney and DBs coach Michael Reed:
Smith holds over 25 Power Four offers and has been on the road this fall as he continues to work through his process. Indiana, Texas A&M and South Carolina are among those who have also had the blue-chipper on campus as of late.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder is the No. 253 overall prospect and No. 18 corner in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 7 junior in Tennessee.
Clemson looking to land another DB from Tennessee
The Tigers’ 2026 recruiting class features three commits, as of Nov. 3. One of those pledges is a fellow Knoxville native in Webb School four-star CB Shavar Young, a top-300 recruit who committed on Aug. 2.

“It is always that family feeling up there at Clemson for me,” Young told On3. “There is something at Clemson that just fits me. It reminds me of my high school. It is a big family there. Coach Dabo Swinney and the Clemson coaches care for their players. They look out for their players, they set you up for the future and Clemson is what I am looking for in a school.”
Young is currently flanked by a pair of junior quarterback commits in Queen Creek (Ariz.) four-star Tait Reynolds and Birmingham (Ala.) Spain Park three-star Brock Bradley. Reynolds is the No. 14 QB in the cycle in the On300, while Bradley is a top-25 player in Alabama.
“From the first moment I stepped on campus, I told my dad, ‘Man, this place is awesome,’” Reynolds told On3. “I worked with coach Riley and I hung out with coach Swinney. He had me in his office. I was the first 2026 quarterback that they offered, so that means a lot. I know they believe in me and it’s a place that I feel like I can be successful at.”
