Clemson has a number of injuries to tend to as it gets ready for an ACC showdown with Stanford, and coach Dabo Swinney provided the latest injury updates on Tuesday.

Offensive lineman Collin Sadler did not appear in last week’s win over NC State, nursing a calf injury.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Bryant Wesco and defensive tackle DeMonte Capehart left the game at various points with injuries.

“All getting better,” Swinney said on Tuesday. “Collin is going to be day-to-day. Wesco is back, he’s practicing and he was just a little sore. Probably if we’d have had to have him could have put him back in the game, but we just held him out. And then Cape’s getting better every day, too.”

The three have contributed in various ways early this season.

Wesco has logged five catches for 134 yards and a touchdown, emerging as one of the team’s top few targets. Capehart, meanwhile, has logged seven tackles and a quarterback pressure on 57 snaps. He has started every game.

Dabo Swinney makes projection on Cade Klubnik

One of the most interesting things to come out of Swinney’s standard media availability this week were some comments on quarterback Cade Klubnik.

Swinney was asked whether he anticipates Klubnik back for the 2025 season, and his response was telling.

“I don’t know why he wouldn’t be,” Swinney said of Klubnik. “He needs to just beat Stanford. … He’s a junior. You may have somebody that may just want to move on somewhere else and you never know. Our anticipation and where we are on paper, we know we’re gonna lose Marcus [Tate] and [Jake Briningstool] and Phil [Mafah]. Outside of that, we expect everybody back. We’re building good momentum with this group and more on the way.”

Clemson is set to take on Stanford at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday with a national broadcast on ESPN.
