Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day wide receiver Gordon Sellars has committed to Clemson. Michigan made a push and South Carolina had momentum at one point, but the four-star chose the Tigers over the Wolverines and Gamecocks.

“That Junior Day visit in March made a big difference,” Sellars told On3. “I was really able to learn about the school, build on my relationships with the people there, talk with the commitments and that visit inched Clemson up my list.”

There was no looking back after that. Sellars took visits, he continued his communication with other schools, but Clemson moved to the top and stayed on top.

“I am all in with Clemson. I am only taking my official visit to Clemson. The environment at Clemson is one of a kind. There are special people there and it is a special culture. The feeling is different at Clemson and it feels like home.

“It is like family. Everyone knows everyone and everyone roots for everyone. You could be downtown or eating somewhere, the people will know you. Clemson has great fans, it is a great environment to be in and everyone is there for you.”

Tyler Grisham was the lead recruiter. Dabo Swinney played a big role in this commitment too. The No. 227 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking is excited about his future in Death Valley when he plays for them both.

“Coach Dabo is a great person. We know he is a great coach too, but I love who he is and how he takes his faith seriously. I do the same. What he lives by makes him special. He has won ACC Championships, he has won National Championships and I know he is going to do things the right way.

“Me and coach Grish are very tight. Every week, he checks up on me and it is never anything about football, it is about life. We talk about me and the family. He has always told me I am a Clemson man and he was right.”.
