More on Clemson WR Troy Stellato entering NCAA Transfer Portal
Clemson wide receiver Troy Stellato told On3 last week that he was planning to enter the transfer portal.
The former four-star recruit has dealt with injuries throughout his college career and has two years of eligibility remaining.
Despite the injuries, Stellato was able to put together a breakout season in 2023. A top-200 recruit in the 2021 class, he finished with 38 catches for 321 yards and a touchdown over 12 games, including six starts. And in 2024, he finished with 25 catches for 264 yards and a touchdown.
“Nothing he does surprises me,” Dabo Swinney said last season. “I’m really proud of him, and I’m just happy for him. The kid has been on ice for two years, and that’s really hard when you’re a great football player and a highly recruited guy and for two years, you got all these issues. So, it’s really cool, and sometimes a guy just needs a little bit of success, and man, it’s just like throwing fuel on the fire. It’s been really good to see.”
