Coaches Poll Top 25 College Football Rankings released after Week 10
The latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings are in following Week 10 of college football and there were definitely some changes, as expected.
Oregon dominated and remained undefeated, Ohio State beat Penn State and well, the SEC got a lot more interesting. Now we turn to the November schedule where it’s cold outside but it’s heating up on the field.
Let’s dive into the latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings following Week 10.
1. Oregon
Oregon dominated Michigan in Ann Arbor to remain undefeated on the season and atop the Big Ten. Dillon Gabriel threw for 294 yards and a touchdown.
Jordan James was great on the ground too: 117 yards and a touchdown. Oregon’s defense also limited Donovan Edwards to just 52 yards on the ground as the Wolverines were forced to go to the air. The Ducks will be heavy favorites the rest of the way.
2. Georgia
Georgia handled Florida in the end, despite three Carson Beck interceptions. Florida lost DJ Lagway and nearly won with a walk-on named Aidan Warner.
So what to make of the Bulldogs? Well they keep winning so that’ll keep them at the top of the SEC in an intriguing race since they lost to Alabama but beat Texas. The final stretch will be must-see TV.
3. Ohio State (+1)
Ohio State got a big monkey off their backs, well Ryan Day did, beating a top five opponent. Sure, the Buckeyes owned Penn State lately in this series, but it was still a big win.
It’s back to Oregon at the top, waiting for Ohio State or Indiana and the two will play each other in the regular season. Make no mistake, Ohio State needed this in the worst way.
4. Miami (+1)
Miami ran past Duke in an ACC matchup to improve to 9-0 on the season. So with that, the Hurricanes have a clear standing at the top of the conference with three games left.
Cam Ward fired five touchdowns in the win and the Heisman contender could very well lead them to an unbeaten season. It seems like SMU is the top contender to catch Miami right now.
5. Texas (+1)
Texas had the benefit of having a week off following a close win over Vanderbilt. The lone loss is to Georgia, so the SEC title hopes are still alive moving forward.
This is still one of the best teams in the country at this point. The highlight of the remaining schedule is Texas A&M to conclude the season.
6. Tennessee (+1)
Tennessee got the win over Kentucky with stars Nico Iamaleava and Dylan Sampson playing well. It was a bit under the radar though considering the magnitude of some other games.
Still, don’t forget about Tennessee’s 7-1 record overall and one loss in the SEC. The Vols are firmly in contention.

7. Penn State (-4)
Penn State had this one didn’t they? A 10-0 lead evaporated into a 20-13 loss to Ohio State, at home no less. No offensive touchdowns? Tough day.
The Nittany Lions suffered their first loss of the year with this game, so they’re not out of it. But man, it sure feels grim for James Franklin and company after having Big Ten title aspirations.
8. Notre Dame (+1)
Notre Dame was just chilling at home watching other teams beat each other up. The Fighting Irish are well positioned to make the College Football Playoff at 7-1 as it stands.
Next up is a game against Florida State at home before taking on Virginia, a ranked Army squad and hitting the road against USC. More than likely, Notre Dame will have to win out to assure themselves a playoff spot.
9. BYU (+3)
BYU was also off this week but the Cougars are still 8-0 on the season. Currently, they’re in the driver’s seat in the Big 12 title picture.
Coming up next is Utah, Kansas, Arizona State and Houston. All winnable games on paper, so we’ll see if the Cougars can make a real run at the College Football Playoff.
10. Indiana (+3)
Indiana is a wagon, how much more do we have to say about the Hoosiers? Now at 9-0, Indiana could be playing for a Big Ten title in a month, we’re not kidding.
If that’s the case, the team is almost assuredly going to the College Football Playoff right? After a 47-10 win over Michigan State, it’s time to stop doubting Curt Cignetti if you were still doing so.
