Coaches Poll Top 25 College Football Rankings released after Week 13
The latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings are in following Week 13 of college football and there were definitely some changes, as expected.
It was upsets galore this weekend across the SEC, as well as some others around college football. But expect some massive shakeups and debate going into the final week.
Let’s dive into the latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings following Week 13.
1. Oregon
Oregon had the week off and got to watch the chaos around them. The Big Ten didn’t have too much, but the SEC certainly did.
The Ducks control their destiny for the top seed in the College Football Playoff at 11-0. Beat Washington, win the conference and get ready for the dance.
2. Ohio State
Ohio State handed Indiana their first loss of the season in dominating fashion. So if there was any question that the Buckeyes could falter against a top five opponent, it didn’t happen.
This could very well be the best team in the country, despite losing to Oregon. A win over Michigan will punch the ticket to Indy.
3. Texas
Texas took care of Kentucky and avoided the chaos in the SEC this weekend. A win over Texas A&M next week will get them to the SEC Championship.
The Longhorns could play Georgia for the title and it’s a good thing they only have one loss right now. The playoff isn’t a guarantee, but they’re in good shape.
4. Penn State
Penn State narrowly avoided an upset at the hands of Minnesota. But from a surface level view, the Nittany Lions won and are 10-1, regardless of the quality of play.
As it stands, Penn State is in prime playoff positioning. Not only that, there’s a chance at the Big Ten Championship after next weekend.
5. Notre Dame (+1)
Notre Dame won its ninth game in a row, dominating Army. That ends any hopes of a service academy going unbeaten.
However, the Fighting Irish solidified some playoff positioning. As long as they beat USC next week, you’d be hard pressed to find a bracket without Marcus Freeman’s crew.
6. Georgia (+2)
Georgia dominated UMass while the SEC practically fell apart around them. With that, the Bulldogs clinched a spot in the SEC Championship Game.
Now, they’ll await Texas or Texas A&M in Atlanta. What looked like a down year is suddenly shifting back to normal, at least in Athens.

7. Miami (+3)
Miami bounced back with a win over Wake Forest but still has to win next week to cinch a spot in the ACC Championship Game. But after the disaster last weekend, Miami is in good shape now.
They’ll head to Syracuse next weekend. A win and they’re in the title game. A loss? Well, you might want to kiss the playoff hopes goodbye.
8. Tennessee (+3)
Tennessee basically controls its own destiny for a playoff spot. While they won’t get the conference crown, the Vols could host a game in Knoxville in the first round.
A win over Vanderbilt would have them end the season at 10-2. Then it’s a matter of rankings to see if they are an eight seed or higher.
9. SMU (+3)
SMU clinched its first trip to the ACC Championship Game in the first year in the Power Four. Gotta love it right? The Mustangs await Miami or Clemson.
So now, Rhett Lashlee and company have a clear path to the playoff. Just win the ACC. But also, avoid a loss in the regular season finale to Cal.
10. Indiana (-5)
Brutal day for Indiana. After a 10-0 start, the Hoosiers took a 7-0 lead on the road at Ohio State before losing 38-15 and dropping their first game.
Pundits want to critique the strength of schedule and if Indiana will fall out of the playoff picture. That doesn’t seem likely now, but Indiana’s resume certainly took a hit after Saturday.
