Coaches Poll Top 25 College Football Rankings released after Week 4
The latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings are in following Week 4 of college football and there were definitely some changes, as expected.
College football is nuts so while we had some eye opening games in unranked games, the ranked teams certainly had their hands full. Or not, in some blowout cases.
Let’s dive into the latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings following Week 4.
1. Georgia
The Bulldogs had a week off to forget about the Kentucky win. Alabama is next so have fun with that! College GameDay is coming as well.
It’s a game for either team to really put a stamp on the early part of the season and show where they stand in the SEC. Unfortunately for Georgia, they’ll do it without Tate Ratledge as the All-American guard will miss four to six weeks after ankle surgery.
2. Texas
Arch Manning didn’t light the world on fire this week, but still played solid in his first career start. Hey, Texas dominated Louisiana-Monroe, so there’s that.
The Longhorns will take on Mississippi State next week in SEC play before a bye week to prepare for Oklahoma. It’s about to start ramping up for Texas. Get ready.
3. Ohio State
Ohio State got off to a slow start but it didn’t matter in a 49-14 win. Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson stole the show on the ground in the Horseshoe.
Big Ten play begins next week with the Buckeyes heading to Michigan State. The tests are going to start rolling in but Ohio State’s been dominant through three games.

4. Alabama
Alabama had the week off but it’s Georgia week! College GameDay will be on location, as mentioned above.
The winner of this coming game will have control of its own destiny in a loaded SEC, which also features Texas this year. But this is easily the biggest game of the season as we approach October.
5. Ole Miss
What can’t Ole Miss do on offense? Through four games, it’s easy to put Jaxson Dart near or at the top of the Heisman race. But again, no SEC play yet.
That’ll be the only question for the Rebels. Can they step it up when the lights are brightest? Cliches aside, this is still one of the most impressive teams in the country through four weeks.
6. Tennessee (+1)
Tennessee won at Oklahoma for head coach Josh Heupel. At least, that was the primary storyline for the former Sooners national champion QB.
In the 25-15 win, the Volunteers defense was suffocating, forcing the Sooners to bench Jackson Arnold.
7. Oregon (-1)
The Ducks were off this weekend and open up Big Ten play next Saturday against, wait, UCLA? This isn’t your father’s Big Ten or Pac-12, or 10, 8, etc.
Still, this is one of the best teams in the country and maybe will hit their stride after beating Oregon State before a week off. Let’s see how the end of the month plays out for the Ducks.
8. Penn State
Penn State needed a week to forget about that ugly Bowling Green win. But a win is a win right? Well, the Nittany Lions dominated Kent State 56-0 Saturday.
It’s definitely what the doctor ordered and Penn State had over seven football fields of offense. That’s right, a school record 718 yards.
9. Miami (+2)
The Hurricanes dominated again and pretty much own the state of Florida. USF, while improved under Alex Golesh, really had no shot against Miami on this day.
Cam Ward passed for over 400 yards and three touchdowns and the Hurricanes won 50-15 after trailing 15-14. These are the ACC favorites for a reason and will remain high in the Coaches Poll.
10. Utah
Utah just keeps winning. It looked like Cam Rising was going to return to the starting lineup and even warmed up with a throwing glove!
Nope! Isaac Wilson got the nod and the Utes edged out Oklahoma State in the fourth quarter. How’s that for an opening statement in the Big 12?

There was some movement in the latter half as well and there are some teams we have to take a look at moving forward. The USC-Michigan game raised some eyebrows and the trajectory in future polls is fascinating. We move onto Week 5.
