Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings updated after Week 13 of college football
Week 13 pretty much epitomized how this entire college football season has gone. The year has been filled with chaos, upsets, and surprised, and this weekend was no exception. After all of the Week 13 action, the USA Today Sports AFCA Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings have been updated with some interesting movement.
In addition to being the final week of the regular season, Week 13 was also rivalry weekend. Many rivalries had important postseason implications on the line, none bigger than The Game between No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Michigan. Though the Buckeyes led early on, the Wolverines played stout all-around in the second half and were able to cruise to a 45-23 victory despite not having star running back and Heisman hopeful Blake Corum available for almost the entirety of the game.
The Game had major College Football Playoff implications, but it was far from the only game that could say the same. No. 1 Georgia and No. 4 TCU each won their respective games, as did No. 6 USC against No. 15 Notre Dame. The Trojans are poised for a leap into the top five, while No. 5 LSU‘s chances at making the CFP came to an abrupt end when the Tigers fell to Texas A&M in the regular season finale. No. 8 Clemson was hoping to squeeze into the final spot in the CFP, but the Tigers were also wiped out of the running after losing to South Carolina.

No. 9 Oregon traveled to Corvallis to take on No. 21 Oregon State on Saturday, and the Beavers were able to win 38-34 after completing an impressive comeback. The other ranked matchup of the weekend came from the AAC, with No. 19 Tulane hosting No. 24 Cincinnati. Tulane held on for a 27-24 victory, securing its spot in the ACC title game against No. 22 UCF, who survived an upset scare against USF on Saturday.
No. 17 North Carolina fell to NC State in Chapel Hill on Friday, despite the Wolfpack being down to their fourth string quarterback. No. 20 Ole Miss dropped a disappointing game to Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl, falling 24-22 and extending its losing streak to three.
