Coastal Carolina announces QB Grayson McCall to miss 3-6 weeks with foot injury
Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall is going to miss three to six weeks with a foot injury. He suffered the injury during the Chanticleers’ win over Appalachian State last Thursday night. The school announced the injury on Twitter.
This is a difficult break for Coastal Carolina, which is currently competing for the Sun Belt East title. The Chanticleers are currently first, but they have three key games remaining.
Grayson McCall is a two-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year. He has been the Chanticleers’ starting quarterback since 2020 and decided to return for the 2022 season instead of going into the NFL Draft or transferring to a Power 5 program.

Over the course of his career, McCall has thrown for 7,700 yards and turned Coastal Carolina into one of the most exciting offenses in college football.
If he wanted to use them, Grayson McCall still has two more seasons of eligibility. He took a redshirt during the 2019 season and the 2020 season didn’t count against anyone’s eligibility. For now, though, McCall will miss the remainder of the regular season and could potentially miss the postseason in 2022.
