Many previously ranked teams were upset during the week

Last week’s top three teams all went perfect on the week. Gonzaga went 1-0 with a win over San Francisco. Auburn picked up a win over Georgia and won an impressive battle against Kentucky. Arizona beat Stanford and California. But beyond those teams, there were a ton of upsets. Baylor, Kansas, UCLA, and Houston are the other teams in last week’s top ten to go undefeated in Week 11. UCLA and Houston ultimately came in tied with 1,116 points in this week’s poll.

Purdue picked up two wins this week, but also suffered a tough loss to Indiana. Duke split its two games, beating Syracuse but losing to Florida State. Wisconsin also split the week, beating Northwestern and losing to Michigan State.

The top ten continues to change on a week-to-week basis. For now, though, it appears that there is a clear-cut top three or four teams in college basketball.

Outside the top ten, multiple teams lost at least one game, with three going 0-2 on the week. Those three teams were Iowa State, LSU, and Illinois. Additionally, Villanova, Kentucky, Xavier, Loyola-Chicago, and Texas all went 1-1.

Following the plethora of upsets, the AP poll following Week 11 looks very different throughout. Marquette and Davidson join the top 25 after being unranked last week, while Texas and Loyola-Chicago fell out of the poll.

BYU (120 points), Alabama (77), Texas (61), Colorado State (57), and Florida State (50) are the teams just on the outside of the top 25 looking in.
