College basketball Coaches Poll Top 25 revealed following Week 9

Another chaotic and exciting week of college basketball action is in the books. This week was the ninth week of the season, and like every other week so far, there were plenty of upsets. Following all of the Week 9 action across college basketball, the latest Coaches Poll Top 25 has been revealed.

Baylor again remains at the top for another week

Yet again, Baylor remained perfect for another week. The Bears picked up victories over Oklahoma and TCU over the last week, improving to 15-0 on the season. Baylor will have a tough test against Texas Tech this week. While Baylor remained perfect, Duke (previously ranked No. 2) lost its second game of the season in Week 9. Duke began the week by beating Georgia Tech before falling 76-74 to Miami later in the week to fall to 12-2 on the season.

Like Duke, Purdue (prev. No. 3) also went 1-1 in Week 9, leading to further debate within the polls. The Boilermakers began the week with a 74-69 loss to Wisconsin before beating Penn State to split the week, improving to 13-2 overall. After having five consecutive games postponed or canceled, UCLA got back on track with two wins in Week 9, improving to 10-1 on the season.

Kansas is another team ranked inside the top ten of last week’s Coaches Poll that went 1-1 during Week 9. The Jayhawks beat Oklahoma State before falling to Texas Tech. Kansas has an intriguing matchup against Iowa State, who beat Texas Tech last week, on Tuesday. Iowa State also faces Texas later in the week.

Colorado State (previously No. 19) dropped out of the poll following Week 9, as Illinois rejoins the rankings at 24. Miami (75 points), Colorado State (64), Oklahoma (39), and Loyola-Chicago (34) finish just outside the top 25.
