On Sunday, CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish updated his college basketball Top 25 And 1 rankings. For the 33rd straight day, Auburn headlined Parrish’s list despite suffering a 90-81 loss to Florida on Saturday.

Auburn isn’t the only SEC team Parrish believes in. There are nine SEC teams in Parrish’s Top 25 And 1 rankings, the most of any conference in the country. The Big 12 has the second-most teams on Parrish’s list with five.

With so many unforeseen changes to cover, let’s dive into Parrish’s latest rankings.

1. Auburn Tigers

Previous Ranking: 1
Parrish believes Auburn’s résumé is still deserving of the No. 1 spot in his rankings. It’s difficult to disagree. Auburn is 12-2 in Quad 1 matchups this season. No other team in the country has more than eight Quad 1 victories.

Additionally, Auburn still holds the top spot in the SEC, the most competitive league in the nation. Every team has bad shooting days and Auburn had one against the Gators. In the loss, the Tigers shot 42.9% from the field and 31.8% from beyond the arc.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide

Previous Ranking: 3
Alabama is tied with Auburn for the No. 1 spot in the SEC standings and, in no coincidence, trails closely behind the Tigers in Parrish’s updated rankings. On Saturday, the Crimson Tide defeated a hot Arkansas team 85-81.

In the win, Grant Nelson and Chris Youngblood combined for 30 points on 10-19 shooting. The Crimson Tide controlled the lane, finishing the game with 56 points in the paint. Alabama has now won six games in a row.

3. Tennessee Volunteers

Previous Ranking: 4
Tennessee is finding its stride at the perfect time. After losing back-to-back games against Auburn and Kentucky to conclude January, the Volunteers have won three consecutive games. Most recently, they dominated Oklahoma 70-52 on Saturday.

Once again, Chaz Lanier looked spectacular in the victory, tallying a game-high 21 points. Zakai Zeigler did his part as well, adding 17 points, nine assists and four steals to the Volunteers’ winning effort.

4. Duke Blue Devils

Previous Ranking: 2
Duke fell two spots in Parrish’s rankings this week after suffering a 77-71 loss to Clemson on Saturday. Alas, the Blue Devils are still one of the best teams in the country. Before losing, Duke was on a 16-game win streak.

Clemson did an excellent job of neutralizing Duke freshman Cooper Flagg in the showdown. In the loss, Flagg recorded 18 points but was uncharacteristically inefficient, shooting 6-17 from the field.

5. Florida Gators

Previous Ranking: 5
Florida is the fourth and final SEC team in Parrish’s Top 5. On Saturday, the Gators reminded teams around the nation to never overlook them. Despite being on the road and without second-leading scorer Alijah Martin, Florida downed No. 1 Auburn 90-81.

Walter Clayton Jr. looked like an SEC Player of the Year candidate in the win, racking up 19 points while connecting on 4-of-his-8 attempts from deep. Not to be outdone, Alex Condon secured a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double in the win.

6. Houston Cougars

Previous Ranking: 6
Houston continues to impress. On Saturday, the Cougars emerged with a 69-59 triumph over Colorado. Four of Houston’s starters scored double figures but nobody outplayed J’Wan Roberts, who notched 20 points while shooting an efficient 9-11 from the field.

While Houston’s offense played well, its defense continues to steal the spotlight. The Cougars have the best defense in the country this season, only allowing 57.0 points per game. If defense wins championships, Houston fans are in for a fun postseason.

7. Purdue Boilermakers

Previous Ranking: 7
Purdue might not have National Player of the Year Zach Edey anchoring the paint anymore but it still has more than enough talent. Trey Kaufman-Renn and Braden Smith are perhaps the best 1-2 punch in the Big Ten, and Friday was no exception.

In the Boilermakers’ 90-72 victory over USC, Kaufman-Renn totaled 24 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. Meanwhile, Smith also stuffed the stat sheet, collecting nine points, 13 assists and five steals against the Trojans.

8. St. John’s Red Storm

Previous Ranking: 8
Rick Pitino isn’t regarded as one of the most talented coaches in college basketball history by accident. On Friday, Pitino and his Red Storm picked up its second straight ranked victory, this time knocking off reigning national champion UConn.

St. John’s displayed Pitino’s patented pressure in the win, squeezing a season-high 22 turnovers out of the Huskies. In turn, the Red Storm scored nine times more points off turnovers than UConn. With the win, St. John’s took sole possession of first place in the Big East standings.

9. Iowa State Cyclones

Previous Ranking: 10
After suffering three losses in a row, Iowa State redeemed itself on Saturday with an 82-52 shellacking of TCU. In the win, Milan Momcilovic played for the first time since Jan. 11. He’d been out for nearly a month after suffering a hand injury in a Cyclones practice on Jan. 15.

Momcilovic didn’t show any signs of rust, tallying 14 points while shooting 4-7 from downtown without committing a turnover. Curtis Jones led all scorers with 24 points and five made 3-pointers.

10. Texas A&M Aggies

Previous Ranking: 11
Texas A&M secured a pivotal 67-64 win over Missouri on Saturday. With two seconds left in the game, Aggies star Wade Taylor IV drained a go-ahead 3-pointer. Missouri was unable to strike back, leaving Tigers fans with no choice but to go home empty-handed.

Texas A&M has now won three games in a row and is seemingly building up speed as it prepares for March. The Aggies are one of the toughest teams in college basketball this season, leading the nation with 16.1 offensive rebounds per game.
