Week two of the college basketball season brought us the Champions Classic along with a few other top 25-type matchups. We saw a lot of blowouts, some upsets, and a little movement from week one.

These are the twenty-five best teams in college basketball, for me, after watching through two weeks. There is a long way to go, and a lot of twists and turns are sure to happen along the way.

But for this moment, as we enter week three of the college basketball season, here is On3’s updated Top 25 ranking after week 2.

1. Kansas (4-0)

Kansas follows last week’s big home win over UNC with a neutral-site victory over Michigan State in the Champions Classic. They’re led by National Player of the Year candidate Hunter Dickinson and have eight players playing 13.5 minutes, or more each night. Head coach Bill Self passed Phog Allen this week for most all-time wins at Kansas. Next up for the Jayhawks is UNC Wilmington on 11/19.

2. Auburn (3-0)

Auburn has already had a signature win when they went on the road last week to earn a five-point win over Houston. The Tigers’ other two games were won by 51 and 23 points. Big man Johni Broome is playing as well as any player in the country and Bruce Pearl’s team is currently putting five players in double figures. Next up for Auburn is North Alabama on 11/18.

3. Gonzaga (3-0)

Gonzaga already has two high major wins on their resume including a 38-point blistering of Baylor. The Zags are averaging 100.7 points per contest. They are putting five guys between 10.7 and 17.3 points while playing eight players 15.7, or more minutes per game. Next up for Gonzaga is San Diego State on 11/18.

4. UConn (3-0)

UConn has won their three games by 36 points, 39 points, and 41 points. While the Huskies have yet to be tested, they have been led by junior forward Alex Karaban who has filled the stat sheet. They are playing nine players 14.0 minutes or more each game and have five guys scoring between 11.0 and 18.0 points. They have assisted on 69 of their 99 made field goals on the season. Next up for UConn is East Texas A&M on 11/19.

5. Iowa State (2-0)

Iowa State has played one game each week through the first two weeks of the season. In both games, they held their opponents to 56 or fewer points. The Cyclones are averaging 10.5 steals per game while shooting 47.9 percent from the field as a team. Iowa State has been led by its dynamic backcourt duo Tamin Lipsey and Keshon Gilbert. Next up they play IU Indianapolis on 11/18.

6. Houston (2-1)

Houston bounced back from a home loss to Auburn for a 46-point win over Louisiana. The Cougars had 11 people play with ten playing more than ten minutes in the game. Oklahoma transfer Milos Uzan has been given the keys to the offense while Houston has had three different players lead them in scoring this season. Next up is Hofstra on 11/22.

7. Kentucky (3-0)

After scoring 100 or more in their first two outings, Kentucky kicked off the Mark Pope era by going 3-0 after a 77-72 win over Duke in the Champions Classic. The Wildcats have had a different player lead them in scoring in each of their three games. They are playing ten players between 9.3 and 25.7 minutes per game and have assisted on 68.6 percent of their made field goals this season. Next up for Kentucky is Lipscomb.

8. Alabama (3-1)

After handling their first three games of the season, Alabama dropped their first game of the year, 87-78 to Purdue this week. The Crimson Tide allowed the Boilermakers to shoot 56.3 percent from the field while Purdue turned the ball over just three times. They are led this season by all-american candidate Mark Sears while they are playing ten players 10.0 minutes or more per game. Next up for Alabama is Illinois on 11/20.

9. Tennessee (4-0)

While Tennessee has had three different leading scorers in their four games, the ball has been put into senior point guard Zakai Zeigler’s hands to run the show. He is the team’s only returning starter from last year’s 27-9 team. Heading into their 103-68 win over Austin Peay, this season’s team is averaging 83.0 points and shooting 42.9 percent from three and 56.0 percent from the field on the season. Next up for Tennessee is Virginia on 11/21.

10. Duke (3-1)

Duke won their three games by a combined total of 127 points. The game they lost, was to Kentucky (77-72) in last week’s Champions Classic. The Blue Devils have been led this season by freshman duo Kon Knueppel and Cooper Flagg. They have nine players who are averaging between 9.3 and 29.5 minutes per game. Next up for Duke is Arizona on 11/22.
