The college basketball transfer portal officially opened for business on Monday, March 24, and will close 30 days later on Tuesday, April 22. For the first time in history, more than half of the points scored in college basketball were scored by players from the transfer portal, not high school.

He was named the 2024-25 Big East Player of the Year after a breakout junior season in New York City.
Luis shined for St. John’s, helping the Red Storm to a conference title and a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. He led the team with 18.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting 43.9% from the field. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
