Four teams in last week’s top ten lost during Week 12
After rising to the top spot in the rankings last week, Auburn remains in the same position in the post-Week 12 AP Poll, following a perfect week with wins over Missouri and Oklahoma. Gonzaga remains just behind Auburn after picking up wins over Loyola Marymount and Portland.
The rest of the top five did not have the same luck. Arizona, previously ranked No. 3, won against Arizona State but couldn’t get it done against UCLA, going 1-1 on the week. Baylor also went 1-1, picking up a win over Kansas State before falling to Alabama. Kansas went 1-1 as well, beating Texas Tech before being dismantled by Kentucky in a highly anticipated top 25 matchup.
Purdue (previously No. 6) had a good week, going 2-0 win wins over Iowa and Ohio State. UCLA (No. 7) picked up three wins on the week against Arizona, Cal, and Stanford. Houston (No. 8) played just one game, but it was a victory over UCF, while Duke (No. 9) picked up wins over Louisville and Clemson. Rounding out last week’s top ten, Michigan State beat Michigan but fell to Illinois, going 1-1 on the week.
