College football awards: Finalists announced for multiple top honors from 2024 season

The 2024 college football regular season is winding down and award winners are set to be announced in just a couple of weeks. Finalists for several college football awards, including the Maxwell Player of the Year Award, were announced on Tuesday.

The 2024 College Football Awards show will be held Thursday, Dec. 12 at 9 p.m. ET. Kevin Negandhi and Jen Lada are hosting the two-hour show from ESPN’s studios. They will be joined by analysts Booger McFarland and Andre Ware.

Here are the finalists for several of the top honors for the 2024 college football season:

Campbell Trophy, John Mackey Award, Rimington Trophy, Walter Camp All-America Team & Player of the Year, Wuerffel Trophy, Broyles Award, Burlsworth Trophy, Butkus Award, and the Nagurski Trophy.

As you can see, Colorado two-way star and Heisman favorite Travis Hunter is well represented on the college football awards finalists list. Hunter is up for the Chuck Bednarik Award, Biletnikoff Award and Maxwell Award.

Other players who are finalists for multiple college football awards are Ohio State defensive back Caleb Downs, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
