On3’s coordinators of the week for each Power 5 conference for Week 6
On3’s Matt Zenitz selects coordinators of the week from each Power 5 conference as well as two from the Group of 5 ranks each week.
Here are the On3 coordinators of the week from Week 6.
ACC
NC State DC Tony Gibson
The buzz: Behind Gibson and his defense, NC State beat Florida State 19-17 despite losing standout QB Devin Leary and only getting 307 yards of offense. The Wolfpack shut out the Seminoles in the second half and ended each of FSU’s last two drives with interceptions. Of the Seminoles’ six second-half possessions, five were either three-and-outs or resulted in turnovers.
Big Ten
Michigan DC Jesse Minter
The buzz: Michigan shut out Indiana in the second half during a 31-10 win. The Wolverines posted seven sacks, held the Hoosiers to 222 yards and had an interception. Indiana had scored at least 21 points in each of its first five games.
Big 12
TCU OC Garrett Riley
The buzz: For a fifth consecutive game, TCU’s offense scored at least 38 points; this time, it was in a 38-31 win over No. 19 Kansas that moved the Horned Frogs to 5-0. TCU scored four touchdowns in the second half, including a go-ahead 24-yard touchdown pass with 1:36 left in the game.
Pac-12
Oregon OC Kenny Dillingham
The buzz: In a 49-22 win at Arizona, Oregon posted its second-highest yards-per-play average (8.3) in a conference game since the start of the 2016 season. After a punt on their first possession, the Ducks scored touchdowns on each of their next seven possessions in building a 49-13 third-quarter advantage.

SEC
Tennessee OC Alex Golesh/DC Tim Banks
The buzz: During a 40-13 win over then-No. 25 LSU, Golesh’s offense put up big numbers (502 total yards) against a defense that had limited Florida State, Mississippi State and Auburn to an average of 19 points. Meanwhile, Banks’ defense tallied five sacks, had two takeaways and held the Tigers to their lowest scoring output of the season.
Group of 5 OC
UAB OC Darin Hinshaw
The buzz: UAB finished with 581 yards and scored five first-half touchdowns in a 41-14 rout of Middle Tennessee State. The Blazers led 38-7 at halftime.
Group of 5 DC
UCF DC Travis Williams
The buzz: In a 41-19 win over SMU, Williams’ defense held a potent Mustangs offense to 13 points before SMU scored a meaningless touchdown on the final play of the game. For context, SMU scored at least 27 points in each of its first four games, including a combined 61 in two games against Power 5 opponents (Maryland and TCU). In addition to posting a second-half shutout before that late touchdown, UCF had two takeaways and also recorded a fourth-quarter safety that pushed its lead to 26-13.
