We’re now officially at the halfway point of the college football regular season, and several wide receivers have clearly separated themselves among the top players at their position. With that, On3’s panel of experts have updated their weekly list of the top 10 impact wide receivers following Week 7.

The top three players remain the same as they were after Week 6, with Ohio State true freshman star Jeremiah Smith once again claiming the No. 1 spot. There was some movement below them, but no player who was ranked in last week’s top 10 dropped out this week.

Smith’s teammate, Emeka Egbuka, made the biggest jump of any player as he moved up three spots from No. 7 to No. 4. That caused several players below him to fall as well, resulting in a slightly new order for this week’s receiver rankings.

1. Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State

No surprise here as Smith remains atop the list following his second 100-yard game of the season in a 32-31 loss to Oregon on Saturday. He has scored at least one touchdown in every game this season to bring his total to seven, one shy of tying to Buckeyes freshman record.

It seems inevitable that he will soon break it with six games remaining on the schedule. Smith now has 32 catches for 553 yards (92.2 yards/game) and even scored a rushing touchdown in the Big Ten opener against Michigan State.

2. Ryan Williams, Alabama

Williams had a down game this past week, recorded his worst statistical outing of the season with just four catches for 32 yards against South Carolina. It marked the first time this year he was held without a touchdown.

Even with that, the true freshman has put up similar numbers to Smith with 23 catches for 576 yards and six touchdowns. He had his best performances in a 41-34 win against Georgia in Week 5, recording six catches for 177 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter that ultimately won the Crimson Tide the game.

3. Tre Harris, Ole Miss

The top three players in On3’s impact wide receivers remain the same after Week 7 of college football. The first non-freshman on the list, Harris leads the country with 987 yards receiving on 59 catches with six touchdowns. That is already a career high for him as he is averaging 141 yards per game.

Harris had his fifth 100-yard game of the season in Week 7 against LSU, but the Rebels still lost 29-26 in overtime. His production is impossible to ignore, earning him a spot among the top three receivers in the nation.

4. Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State (+3)

It was a relatively quiet first few weeks of the season for Ohio State’s leading returning receiver, who had only two touchdowns through the first four games. He then broke out of his shell with a three-touchdown performance in Week 6 against Iowa as he hauled in nine catches for 71 yards.

He followed that up with 10 catches for 93 yards and another touchdown this past week against Oregon. That brings his season total to 40 catches for 526 yards and six touchdowns, and he’ll look to continue gaining steam over the back half of the year.

5. Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona (-1)

McMillan’s season got off to a bang as he set the Arizona record with 304 yards and four touchdowns on 10 catches in Week 1 against New Mexico. He’s continued to impress since then and currently ranks third in the country with 42 catches for 742 yards and four touchdowns.

The 6-foot-5 receiver is will on his way to his second straight 1,000-yard season and has been one of the few bright spots with the Wildcats off to a 3-3 start. McMillan is expected to be a top 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and for good reason.

6. Travis Hunter, Colorado (-1)

Hunter finds himself slipping in the rankings for the second straight week after suffering an injury in last week’s loss to Kansas State. The Buffaloes star left the game with 6:14 remaining in the first half and did not return, finishing with a season-low three catches for 26 yards.

Thankfully, he is expected to return to action this week when Colorado looks to bounce back against Arizona. Could a big performance in that game be enough to move him back into the top five wide receivers in college football?

7. Luther Burden III, Missouri (-1)

Burden hasn’t had many explosive games this season, but he had been consistent to record 31 catches for 398 yards and four touchdowns. He’s also mixed in on a few run plays with five carries for 90 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

While those numbers are still great by any means, many expected more from Burden, who has had only one 100-yard game this season. He’ll look to regain some of the momentum from last year over the back half of the season.

8. Tai Felton, Maryland

Daniel Kucin Jr.-Imagn Images

Felton got off to a torrid start to the season with four straight 100-yard games, but has since been held to 38 and 77 in each of the past two weeks. He still leads the Big Ten with 55 catches for 719 yards and five touchdowns, well on his way to setting career bests in all categories.

Felton certainly could give Smith and Egbuka a run for the title of top receiver in the conference, though he gets more opportunities than both as the standalone top target for the Terps. In fact, Maryland ranks as the No. 2 passing attack in the conference with 303.3 air yards per game.

9. Xavier Restrepo, Miami

Restrepo has been the top target this season for quarterback Cam Ward as the Hurricanes are off to a 6-0 start. He had his best game of the year in Week 6 against California to finish with seven catches for 163 yards.

The fifth-year senior is on pace for his best season yet with 32 catches for an ACC-leading 585 yards and five touchdowns. He’s a big reason why Miami is considered the frontrunner to win the conference and make the College Football Playoff.

10. Tez Johnson, Oregon

Johnson rounds out the top 10 impact wide receivers in college football. He has been one of the most consistent receivers in the country this season and has only seemed to get better as the year goes on. He had seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown this past week in the biggest win of the season against Ohio State.

Johnson now 50 catches for 470 yards and six touchdowns this season, scoring at least one in each of the past three weeks. He’ll look to keep rolling this week in a matchup against Purdue on Friday.
