The latest College Football Playoff national championship odds were updated ahead of Week 10 of the regular season.

Looking at the top of the list, i.e. the favorites, there’s a tie for shortest odds now. Buckle up, the race is getting razor thin. But after the top four, there’s a bit of a drop off, in terms of odds.

Let’s dive into the latest national title odds, courtesy of FanDuel, ahead of the first College Football Playoff rankings.

Michigan (+250)

(Nick King_Lansing State Journal _ USA TODAY NETWORK)

With a week off, Michigan got to rest up and remain perfect (8-0) on the season. NCAA investigations aside, this is a dominant football team.

It’s unfortunate for the Wolverines that all of the talk now is about potential punishment and Jim Harbaugh. The head coach’s contract extension was pulled in the wake of the sign stealing allegations.

Georgia (+250)

(Matt Pendleton/Gainesville Sun)

The Bulldogs got another win over Florida and remained undefeated as well. This is still the favorite to win it all, but now Georgia has company.

The team in Athens isn’t the only one with +250 odds to win it all. Still, you gotta hand it to Kirby Smart and company for being in the running for a third straight national title.

Florida State (+550)

(Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports)

The Seminoles dominated Wake Forest on the road and cruised to another victory. Florida State also sports a perfect record like the two teams in front on this list.

This is the ACC front runner and it’s not close now with North Carolina falling back. Louisville might have something to say about it, but there’s a reason why FSU is this high this late in the season.

Ohio State (+700)

(Adam Cairns_Columbus Dispatch _ USA TODAY NETWORK)

Ohio State is also undefeated and took care of Wisconsin in Madison over the weekend. It wasn’t an otherworldly performance from the offense but the defense is certainly dominant.

It remains to be seen what this team will do against Michigan. Is it going to be a third straight defeat, or will Ohio State restore order, in its mind at least?

Oregon (+1,400)

(Christopher Creveling-USA TODAY Sports)

Forget all the fanfare and College GameDay hype, Oregon took care of business and then some in Utah. The Ducks increased their chances to win it all with another dominant performance.

The offense is awesome and the defense is physical. That’s exactly what you want in a title contender. But Oregon has to run the table here.

Alabama (+1,600)

(John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports)

The Crimson Tide are slowly creeping back up the list and as long as they run the table, they’ll be back in Atlanta. Alabama’s lone loss is to Texas, outside of the SEC.

Regardless of what you think of Nick Saban’s team this year, they’re rising at the right time. A potential Alabama-Georgia SEC title game is going to be fun to watch.

Washington (+1,700)

(D. Ross Cameron-USA TODAY Sports)

Speaking of the Pac-12, the Huskies had another close call but Michael Penix Jr. was much better. He looked like the Heisman contender he’s projected to be and Washington got out of Stanford with a shootout win.

A rematch with Oregon in the Pac-12 title game seems inevitable but it seems like there are landmines all over the conference. Stay tuned to the Huskies.

Texas (+1,700)

(Jay Janner_American-Statesman _ USA TODAY NETWORK)

The Longhorns managed to get a Big 12 win over BYU without Quinn Ewers. So far, so good without the team’s star quarterback.

Maalik Murphy was solid in his QB1 debut and could be able to keep the ship steady until Ewers is back. Texas will need the latter to win it all though.

Next set of contenders

Oklahoma (+3,500)
LSU (+3,500)
Penn State (+8,000)
Notre Dame (+20,000)
Louisville (+25,000)
Ole Miss (+25,000)
Missouri (+40,000)
USC (+50,000)
Air Force (+50,000)
Miami (+50,000)

With just four weeks left, which means November, the contenders are alive and the pretenders are gone. Get ready for an exciting final stretch.
