The latest College Football Playoff predictions are in from CBS Sports ahead of the fourth set of rankings Tuesday night.

There weren’t any drastic changes, but the rankings reflect the remaining teams in contention for the top four spots. Realistically, there are nine teams alive for those four spots.

Let’s dive into the latest College Football Playoff predictions from CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm.

1. Georgia

Saul Young/News Sentinel / USA TODAY NETWORK

Georgia dominated once again, this time 38-10 over Tennessee and it’s time to be very afraid of the Bulldogs again. The last month-plus saw the return of the two-time champs, for real.

Carson Beck threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns while Kendall Milton got it going on the ground with 66 yards and one touchdown. Georgia Tech next week and then it’s Alabama time.

2. Ohio State

Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Game is what we look forward to every year, especially if both teams are in the national title picture. That’s been the case lately and it’s another win and get in scenario.

Ohio State hits the road this time and will try to knock off Michigan for the first time since 2019. Last time in Ann Arbor? It wasn’t fun. Maybe third time’s the charm after two straight losses for Ohio State.

3. Michigan

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

The Wolverines have been dominant all year, but could not sustain that ability the last two weeks. The good news is, Michigan won over Penn State and Maryland and will host rival Ohio State in a game between undefeated teams.

Michigan will have to do it without Jim Harbaugh for the third straight week. Can it happen again? Well, Michigan is 5-0 without Harbaugh this year believe it or not. Sherrone Moore will have to push all of the right buttons to keep the maize and blue alive for the playoffs.

4. Washington

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Washington went into a hostile environment at Oregon State and came out the victors. The Huskies edged the Beavers 22-20 on some clutch throws from Michael Penix Jr. That put them in the top four, per CBS Sports, for now.

He threw two touchdowns and a game clinching completion to Rome Odunze. Washington will play for the Pac-12 title in two weeks and await Oregon for a rematch or Arizona. The playoff is well within reach now.

5. Florida State

Morgan Tencza-USA TODAY Sports

Florida State may have won but all thoughts and prayers are up for quarterback Jordan Travis. Travis appeared to suffer a gruesome lower leg injury in the win over North Alabama.

Head coach Mike Norvell was emotional when talking about his star quarterback’s injury. FSU can still win the ACC title and get to the playoff, but without Travis, the hopes certainly take a hit. A shame for such a great player.

6. Oregon

Another dominant win for Oregon, this time 49-13 over Arizona State. The Ducks have to beat Oregon State to clinch a spot in the Pac-12 title game and get that rematch with Washington.

Bo Nix continued his Heisman Trophy campaign with 404 yards and six touchdown passes. He was unstoppable again. Civil War time this coming weekend to earn the rematch with the Huskies.

7. Texas

Sara Diggins/American-Statesman / USA TODAY NETWORK

The one good thing going for Texas is that the Longhorns have the head-to-head win over Alabama. That’s why Steve Sarkisian and company should stay ahead of that team in Tuscaloosa.

Finishing 12-1 as Big 12 champions should punch Texas’ ticket to the playoff, or at least, give the team a good chance. That’s really the only way. More than likely, Texas will need some help, but perhaps not much.

8. Alabama

Gary Cosby Jr.-USA TODAY Sports

The Crimson Tide keep rolling on through the schedule. Yes, it was Chattanooga, but Alabama dominated its way to a 10-1 record Saturday. What’s next? The Iron Bowl.

Obviously if the Crimson Tide lose, they can kiss their playoff hopes goodbye. A win next week and then a win over Georgia in the SEC Championship gives this squad a great argument. It’d be hard to not put them in the final four at that rate.

9. Missouri

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

It certainly seemed like Missouri was going to fall victim to an upset at the hands of Florida, but the Tigers prevailed again. Harrison Mevis drilled the game winning field goal to give Mizzou its 9th win of the season.

Basically, it’s been a dream year for Eli Drinkwitz and company, sans that loss to Georgia. Boy, can you imagine if Missouri was on top of the SEC East instead? Either way, the New Year’s Six is in play.

10. Louisville

Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

The Louisville Cardinals are in an interesting spot considering they could be barely in the top 10 of the rankings. However, two straight wins, which would include an ACC title win over Florida State, would be very interesting.

That would certainly give Louisville a chance at the playoff, but the team likely needs help to pass others. However, there would be a good argument to put the Cardinals in the playoff in Year 1 under Jeff Brohm.
