College Football Rankings: ESPN releases updated FPI Top 25 after Week 10
The latest college football rankings from ESPN are here after the network updated its FPI Top 25 following Week 10 of the season.
Ohio State-Penn State was the main event this weekend, with the Buckeyes coming out on top on the road. It definitely altered these rankings.
Let’s dive into ESPN’s new FPI rankings following Week 10 of action.
1. Texas
Texas had a week off following a close win over Vanderbilt last weekend. The Longhorns are still 7-1 and at the top of these FPI rankings.
Coming up next is a banged up Florida squad that took Georgia to the brink, despite losing QB DJ Lagway. Texas should be favored the rest of the way with a path to the SEC Championship Game.
2. Ohio State
A statement win for Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. Something had to give between Ohio State and Penn State, which both had their respective struggles against top teams.
Well, Ohio State stayed at No. 2 in the FPI with a road win Saturday, keeping their Big Ten title hopes alive. Not only that, Ohio State is still high up in the playoff mix.
3. Alabama
Alabama got a week off following a shutout win over Missouri last weekend. They’ll hit the road to take on LSU which could essentially be a College Football Playoff elimination game.
For now, ESPN’s FPI still ranked the Crimson Tide in the top three teams. How much of that changes next weekend?
4. Georgia
Something’s up with Georgia’s offense, more specifically, Carson Beck. Despite a 34-20 win, Beck threw three interceptions against the Florida Gators.
Still, Georgia is a top four team in the FPI and in the thick of the SEC title race with just one loss on the season. The last four games of the year are going to be fascinating.
5. Notre Dame
Dominating Navy was another statement win for Notre Dame and gave them their sixth straight win. A week off and the Fighting Irish are sitting pretty in the top five of the FPI.
Florida State is next on the docket and it’s hard to say the Seminoles are ready to pull off an upset. They’re 1-8 and Notre Dame could make that one ugly in a hurry.
6. Ole Miss (+1)
Ole Miss boatraced Arkansas Saturday by putting up 63 points. They were on cruise control in the second half but Jaxson Dart had six touchdowns in this one, one of his best performances.
The Rebels moved up a spot in the FPI and kept their slim SEC title hopes alive as well as their College Football Playoff chances. Next up? Georgia.

7. Oregon (+1)
Oregon moved up a spot in the FPI this week with a win over Michigan on the road. The Ducks were never really in danger.
Still, ESPN’s ranking keeps this team well away from the No. 1 spot like other polls. But make no mistake, Oregon is still undefeated and at the top of the Big Ten with the inside track to a No. 1 seed in the CFP.
8. Tennessee (-2)
The Volunteers moved down two spots in the FPI this weekend despite a 28-18 win over Kentucky. Dylan Sampson was the lead dog with 141 yards and two touchdowns.
It was a quieter win for Tennessee compared to some other teams this week. But hey, Tennessee is still 7-1 and 4-1 in the SEC. The conference is going to get quite weird!
9. Miami (+1)
Miami handed Duke its third loss of the season, winning 53-31 at home to stay unbeaten. The Hurricanes are at the top of the ACC and moved up one spot in the FPI.
Heisman candidate Cam Ward threw five touchdowns in this one as well as 400 yards. Miami should be favored the rest of the way to get a first round bye in the playoffs.
10. Indiana (+1)
Oh yeah, we get to talk some Indiana this week after the Hoosiers issued another beatdown. Curt Cignetti and company improved to 9-0 following a 47-10 shallacking of Michigan State on the road.
Indiana moved up a spot in the FPI to get into the top 10 and this is a legitimate playoff team and potential Big Ten contender. Michigan comes to town this week before Indiana gets a week off before playing Ohio State.
