July was full of commitments, and the college football recruiting calendar is hitting its summer peak before senior seasons begin. In the past four weeks alone, more than 200 prospects have committed to Power Four programs.

And a few very notable names in the 2025 and 2026 classes are set to announce their decisions in the next seven days. With the help of the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), we’ll preview each of the expected announcements.

Friday, August 2

4-star WR Dillon Alfred
School
: Gautier (Miss.) Saraland
Industry RankingNo. 374
On3 RPM: Ole Miss 67.5%, Clemson 16.1%

The Skinny: After decommitting from Ole Miss in late June, Alfred has been considering the Rebels and Tigers, including visits to each at the end of July. Heading into the decision, Lane Kiffin and Co. are trending to add the dynamic playmaker back into their class.

4-star OT Juan Gaston
School
: Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake
Industry RankingNo. 187
On3 RPM: Georgia 90.9%, Tennessee 3.5%, South Carolina 2.2%

The Skinny: Georgia has pushed all the right buttons inside its own state, with 12 of their 21 commits coming from inside the Peach State’s borders. Twenty-four hours out, Gaston looks to be the next big-time target who will join the Bulldogs and play for Kirby Smart.

2026 4-star Shavar Young
School
: Knoxville (Tenn.) Webb School
Industry RankingNo. 247
On3 RPM: Clemson 72.9%, Tennessee 7.2%, Georgia 2.7%

The Skinny: Young has been a frequent visitor to Death Valley since coming onto the scene as a national recruit. And while the local program, Tennessee, has pushed hard to land him, all signs point to the Tigers taking home a big early commitment in 2026.

Saturday, August 3

5-star SAF Trey McNutt
School
: Shaker Heights (Ohio)
Industry RankingNo. 20
On3 RPM: Oregon 92.8%, Ohio State 1%, Texas A&M <1%

The Skinny: McNutt was set to announce his commitment two weeks ago, but due to unforeseen travel circumstances for his family, pushed the decision back two weeks. Texas A&M and Oregon both hosted him since then, with the Ducks still holding the momentum two days out.

4-star EDGE Jared Smith
School
: Hoover (Ala.) Thompson
Industry RankingNo. 42
On3 RPM: Auburn 82.0%, South Carolina 11.7%

The Skinny: The Gamecocks were considered the favorites to land Smith for much of the spring and early summer, but Auburn came on strong with a big official visit weekend. He returned to The Plains for Big Cat Weekend a week ago, and the Tigers are trending for one of the nation’s best edge rushers.

2026 5-star QB Faizon Brandon
School
: Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley
Industry RankingNo. 10
On3 RPM: Tennessee 94%, NC State 2.3%

The Skinny: Quarterbacks have been flying off the board in the 2026 class. And Brandon will be the next. Tennessee has been trending as the favorite since a summer visit in June, and while NC State, Alabama and LSU have put up a strong fight, it’s the Vols in position to land their second five-star quarterback in four cycles.

4-star IOL Jaylen Gilchrist
School
: Virginia Beach (Va.) Salem
Industry RankingNo. 110
On3 RPM: South Carolina 90.6%, Maryland 2.7%

The Skinny: Earlier this summer, Gilchrist released his top three schools, which included Georgia, Maryland and South Carolina. The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder took June official visits to each of those programs, but it’s the Gamecocks who are in pole position as it stands today, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

2026 4-star QB Jonas Williams
School
: Frankfort Heights (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East
Industry RankingNo. 92
On3 RPM: Oregon 98.2%, Ohio State <1%

The Skinny: The Ducks have been on a roll recruiting QBs under Dan Lanning, and Williams is in line to be the next major commitment at a premium position. Ohio State, LSU and others have also been in pursuit, but Oregon has the buzz a few days out.

Sunday, August 4

4-star WR Koby Howard
School
: Davie (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna
Industry RankingNo. 386
On3 RPM: Penn State 80.4%, Florida 13.4%

The Skinny: Penn State has had no shortage of success in the Sunshine State under James Franklin and Ju’Juan Seider. And Howard is trending to be the next Florida native to head north after a key official visit at the end of June.

Wednesday, August 7

5-star WR Kaliq Lockett
School
: Sachse (Texas)
Industry RankingNo. 17
On3 RPM: Texas 83.6%, Alabama 6.5%, Texas A&M 2.2%

The Skinny: The month of August could be a massive one for Texas with 5 five-star targets expected to come off the board in the next 30 days. Lockett will be the first, and the Longhorns still look to be in prime position. But they’ll have to hold off LSU, Alabama and others in the final days.

Thursday, August 8

4-star CB CJ Jimcoily
School
: Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy
Industry RankingNo. 388
On3 RPM: LSU 20.4%, Stanford 17.9%, Tennessee 11.6%

The Skinny: Jimcoily has been down to LSU and Stanford for months now, and it’s finally decision time in a week. As it stands, no team has a big advantage either way as the Tigers present an option closer to home, but the education and opportunity to play early at Stanford could win out as well.
