Teams with the highest average rating per commit in the 2025 cycle

Blue-chip commitments are flying off the board left and right as we reach the midway point of July, and college football recruiting is on fire right now.

While there’s still a little less than five months to go until the December national signing day and dozens of coveted players available, a handful of teams are already loading up on commitments. The average number of Power 4 commitments is now up to 15 per team, and a few schools in particular have loaded by with both quantity and quality.

Below are the top 10 teams with the highest average rating per commitment:

Ohio State – 92.39

Early in the 2025 cycle, defensive coordinator Knowles and his staff have gotten busy. Of OSU’s 23 commitments, 12 are on that side of the ball and five are in the secondary. Ohio State holds commitments from two of the nation’s top cornerback recruits — Five-Star Plus+ CBs Na’eem Offord and Devin Sanchez. Their class also includes elite linebacker Riley Pettijohn, four-star safety Faheem Delane, four-star EDGE Zahir Mathis, four-star EDGE London Merritt, four-star linebacker Tarvos Alford, four-star cornerback DeShawn Stewart, in-state standout linebacker Eli Lee and fast-rising Cleveland-area safety Cody Haddad.

On the offensive side, OSU has already locked up its quarterback in the class with elite passer Tavien St. Clair. He’s joined by the likes of Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer four-star offensive tackle Carter Lowe, four-star tight end Nate Roberts, four-star wide receiver Quincy Porter and four-star WR De’zie Jones.

Early in June, the Buckeyes struck again offensive side of the ball with four-star athlete Bo Jackson, who is expected to play running back at the next level, and elite wide receiver Quincy Porter.

Oregon – 92.35

The final weekend of June saw four big-time commitments for the Ducks, highlighted by a surprise pledge from Conroe (Texas) elite four-star cornerback Dorian Brew. He joined Tampa Bay Tech five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson at the top of the pack for Dan Lanning and Co. just a week before Duncanville (Texas) Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Dakorien Moore took over the top spot in the class.

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star running back Jordon Davison picked the Ducks over the likes of Ohio State, Michigan and Alabama. Derby (Kan.) four-star tight end DaSaahn Brame, San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln four-star quarterback Akili Smith Jr., Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star linebacker Nasir Wyatt and Belleville (Ill.) Althoff Catholic four-star athlete Dierre Hill are all also in the top 175.

Other top commits for the Ducks include Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North four-star receiver Isaiah Mozee, Concord (Calif.) De La Salle four-star defensive lineman Matthew Johnson and Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Prep four-star receiver Cooper Perry. Tampa Sumner four-star offensive tackle Ziyare Addison pledged to the Ducks on June 10.

LSU – 92.11

LSU’s class features two five-stars (QB Bryce Underwood and RB Harlem Berry) and 12 four-star prospects. The Tigers added a pair of star prospects in June: four-star interior offensive lineman Carius Curne and four-star EDGE Jesse Harrold.

July is off to a fast start fo the Tigers, picking up Indianapolis Warren Central four-star EDGE Damien Shanklin and four-star Zion Williams — in addition to flipping Melbourne (Fla.) Eau Gallie four-star defensive lineman Brandon Brown away from Texas.

Four-star linebackers Keylan Moses and Charles Ross headline the defense alongside Harrold, while Tyler Miller and Devin Harper provide elite talent along the offensive line.

Georgia – 91.86

Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County five-star linebacker Zayden Walker joined the class as Georgia’s third five-star in early June. Not long after, Warner Robins (Ga.) five-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson decommitted from USC and joined the fold in Athens. They sit alongside Folkston (Ga.) Camden five-star TE Elyiss Williams at the top of the class.

Recent additions to the class for Georgia include: Bogart (Ga.) Prince Avenue Christian four-star defensive lineman Christian Garrett, four-star offensive lineman Mason Short — a one-time Alabama commit who reopened his recruitment when Nick Saban retired — four-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery and four-star wide receiver/athlete Thomas Blackshear.

Geneva (Ill.) Community four-star receiver Talyn Taylor, the No. 48 overall prospect, joined the class in mid-June. Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale four-star cornerback Shamari Earls flipped from South Carolina to the ‘Dawgs on July 7.

Florida State – 91.63

Top Commit: Jacksonville Raines five-star IOL Solomon Thomas, No. 13 NATL. (No. 1 IOL).

The 12 commits are split on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. The current headliner in the class is Jacksonville Raines five-star interior offensive lineman Solomon Thomas. Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County four-star IOL and onetime Florida commit Peyton Joseph joined Thomas in the trenches following his Fourth of July commitment.

The end of June was good to the Noles, as a quartet of four-stars pledged between June 24-30. Milton (Ga.) elite wide receiver CJ Wiley highlights the recent additions. Port Charlotte (Fla.) four-star defensive lineman Myron Charles added his name to the group alongside Greensboro (Ga.) Greene County four-star DL Kevin Wynn and Omaha (Neb.) Millard South four-star tight end Chase Loftin. Two weeks later, the ‘Noles have added one of the nation’s top receiver targets in Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy four-star Daylan McCutcheon.

Jacksonville Mandarin four-star quarterback pledge Tramell Jones has continued to see his stock rise. Cocoa four-star EDGE Javion Hilson is a former Alabama pledge who joined the fold in Tallahassee in January following the retirement of Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban.

Alabama – 91.50

Alabama’s class is led by Choctaw County (Miss.) five-star wideout Caleb Cunningham, who joined the class on Saturday. Mission Viejo (Calif.) five-star cornerback Dijon Lee, who committed in late June, is part of a recent hot streak for the Crimson Tide. Other recent pledges include Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley four-star EDGE Dawson Merritt, Mobile (Ala.) Vigor four-star interior offensive lineman Micah DeBose, elite Cincinnati Winton Woods EDGE Justin Hill and Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge four-star tight end Kaleb Edwards.

Eastman (Ga.) Dodge County elite athlete Darrell Johnson and Selma (Ala.) Southside four-star athlete Derick Smith committed just days apart in the month of March.

Alabama flipped standout five-star quarterback Keelon Russell away from SMU in early June, days before landing another top defender in four-star cornerback Chuck McDonald. Carmel (Calif.) four-star offensive tackle Jackson Lloyd and Doylestown (Pa.) Central Bucks East four-star IOL Michael Carroll also added their names to the commit list in June.

Clemson – 91.34

Top Commit: Durham (N.C.) Southern defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell, No. 39 NATL. (No. 4 EDGE).

Clemson’s 13-man class consists of nine blue-chip prospects, including a pair of top-50 recruits in Durham (N.C.) Southern defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell and Norfolk (Va.) Maury four-star EDGE Ari Watford.

Seven additional four-star recruits are committed to the Tigers, including the likes of Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy running back Gideon Davidson, Tampa Wiregrass Ranch cornerback Graceson Littleton, Lake City (S.C.) South Florence defensive lineman Amare Adams, Buford (Ga.) offensive tackle Brayden Jacobs and Lawrence (Mass.) Central Catholic quarterback Blake Hebert.

Michigan – 90.50

Top Commit: Oak Park (Ill.) Fenwick four-star DL Nate Marshall, No. 54 NATL. (No. 5 DL).

Oak Park (Ill.) Fenwick four-star defensive lineman Nate Marshall has headlined the defending champs’ class since he committed in April.

Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange four-star safety Ivan Taylor flipped his commitment from Notre Dame to Michigan earlier this week. They are joined in the top 150 by Center Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh four-star tight end Andrew Olesh and Montgomery Village (Md.) Gonzaga four-star safety Kainoa Winston.

Fort Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot four-star quarterback Carter Smith is the signal-caller for the class and pledged to UofM last November.

Texas A&M – 90.35

Top Commit: Corona (Calif.) Centennial five-star QB Husan Longstreet, No. 25 NATL. (No. 4 QB).

Corona (Calif.) Centennial five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet committed on April 14 and is a centerpiece addition for Elko and Co. Longstreet headlines the four Golden State standouts in the A&M class.

Lancaster (Calif.) Quartz Hill four-star cornerback Adonyss Currie is one of three CBs in the class. La Verne (Calif.) Bonita four-star linebacker Noah Mikhail recently joined the class following a June 30 decision. With Mikhail’s commitment, A&M now has three of the top 10 players in California on its pledge list. The Aggies also added a pledge from Danville (Calif.) San Ramon Valley four-star EDGE Marco Jones in early July.

DeSoto (Texas) four-star running back Deondrae Riden provided an early recruiting boost with his commitment in February. Other top commits include Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek four-star CB Cobey Sellers and Denton (Texas) Ryan four-star interior offensive lineman Marcus Garcia.

Texas – 90.17

While the 2025 class has been a bit of a disappointment so far by Texas’ standards, the Longhorns still have a talented group of more than a dozen prospects committed.

The headliner of the group is Texarkana (Texas) Pleasant Grove four-star EDGE Lance Jackson, who sits just outside five-star status in the On3 Industry Ranking. The ‘Horns have a pair of top-100 defenders to go along with him in EDGE Smith Orogbo and linebacker Elijah Barnes, both from the Lone Star State.

Saraland (Ala.) four-star quarterback K.J. Lacey is the centerpiece of the Longhorns’ offensive class, and he’s joined by two four-star running backs — James Simon and Rickey Stewart Jr. — as well as four-star tight end Emaree Winston.
