With Week 8 of college football fast-approaching, FanDuel has released the point spreads for some of the biggest matchups. The week will get an early start as play is set to begin on Thursday with a few Group of 5 games, and there will be at least one game to watch every day through Saturday.

Last week saw a few top 25 teams fall, most notably Oregon and USC, which suffered their first losses of the season to Washington and Notre Dame, respectively. The Huskies rose to No. 5 in the latest AP poll as a result, while North Carolina replaced the Trojans at No. 10 after a 41-31 victory against Miami.

This week features four matchups between top 25 opponents, with none bigger than a battle of unbeatens between Penn State and Ohio State. You can view the point spreads for every Week 8 college football game below.

No. 7 Penn State at No. 3 Ohio State (-5.5)

Matthew OHaren-USA TODAY Sports

Details: Noon ET on Saturday, Oct. 21 on FOX
Not only is this the game of the week, but it could have a significant impact on the Big Ten title and College Football Playoff race. The Buckeyes and Nittany Lions both enter undefeated, and Penn State is searching for its first win against Ohio State since 2016.

Both teams rank among the top three in the Big Ten in total offense and defense, so this is about as evenly matched as it gets. How Buckeyes receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka, who sat out last week with injury, fare against No. 1 passing defense in the country will be a key matchup to watch.

UCF at No. 6 Oklahoma (-18.5)

College football Week 8
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Details: Noon ET on Saturday, Oct. 21 on ABC
Sooners quarterback Dillon Gabriel will get the chance to play against his old team as the Oklahoma hosts UCF. Gabriel was fantastic in a 34-30 against rival Texas in Week 6, throwing for 285 yards, rushing for 113 more and throwing the game-winning touchdown with 15 seconds remaining.

The Knights are still in search of their first Big 12 victory and enter the game with injury concerns on quarterback John Rhys Plumlee, who left Week 6 against Kansas. Oklahoma enters with the top-ranked scoring offense and defense in the conference, which should spell an easy win for the Sooners in Norman.

No. 17 Tennessee at No. 11 Alabama (-9.5)

College football Week 8
Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

Details: 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 21 on CBS
Tennessee snapped a 15-game losing streak to Alabama last season, winning 52-49 and celebrating with the traditional postgame cigars. This year, however, the matchup will take place in Tuscaloosa, giving Crimson Tide look to have a good shot at getting back on the right side of the rivalry.

Alabama has managed to get by without a loss in SEC play to this point, holding off an Arkansas comeback this past week to win 24-21. Tennessee hasn’t looked quite as potent offensively this season with Joe Milton at quarterback, and will face a tall task against an Alabama defense that ranks second in the SEC in points allowed per game (16.0).

Washington State at No. 9 Oregon (-18.5)

College football Week 8
Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Details: 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 21 on ABC
Oregon dropped its first game of the season this past week in a hard-fought battle against Washington and will be looking to get back on track in Week 8 to keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive. The Ducks will get a home matchup against Washington State to do so, taking on a Cougars team that has lost two straight after a hot 4-0 start.

WSU quarterback Cam Ward has struggled over the past couple of weeks to throw just one touchdown and three interceptions after throwing for 13 TDs in his first four games. That should spell an opportunity for the Oregon defense to pounce, while Bo Nix takes care of things offensively and gets the Ducks a bounce back win.

South Carolina at No. 20 Missouri (-6.5)

Jordan Prather-USA TODAY Sports

Details: 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 21 on SEC Network
Eli Drinkwitz has Missouri tied for the most wins in any season since he took over in 2020 and will aim to keep rolling Saturday against South Carolina. The Tigers became bowl eligible this past week, outscoring Kentucky 38-7 over the final three quarters in a 38-21 road win.

The Gamecocks were on the wrong side of a comeback against Florida, giving up a 10-point lead by allowing back-to-back touchdowns in the fourth quarter in a 41-39 loss. Missouri has surprisingly been one of the best offenses in the SEC thanks to quarterback Brady Cook and running back Cody Schrader, and will look to keep putting up point Saturday.

No. 13 Ole Miss (-6.5) at Auburn

Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

Details: 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 21 on ESPN
Ole Miss has responded nicely after losing its SEC opener to Alabama, reeling off a pair of wins against LSU and Arkansas in the next two games. Auburn finds itself trending in the opposite direction after starting off conference play 0-3, but could still be a tough matchup on the road.

The Tigers gave No. 1 Georgia all it could handle the last time it played at home, so the Rebels should be careful not to get caught sleeping early on. Ole Miss will aim to continue to get things done on the ground with the backfield duo of Quinshon Judkins and Ulysses Bentley.

No. 2 Michigan (-23.5) at Michigan State

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Details: 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 21 on NBC
This in-state rivalry has been fairly even over the past decade, with the Spartans holding a 6-4 advantage in that span. However, Michigan State enters this game reeling having lost four straight and still in search of its first conference win.

The Wolverines, on the other hand, look like one of the most dominant teams in the country with a chance to compete for a national championship. Michigan ranks as the No. 1 scoring defense in the country with 6.7 points allowed per game and has won its games by an average margin of 32.7 points so far. Anything can happen in a rivalry game of course, but it would seem that Spartans are severely outmatched here.

No. 16 Duke at No. 4 Florida State (-14.5)

Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports

Details: 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 21 on ABC
Duke has been one of the biggest surprises this season as the Blue Devils are off to a 5-1 start and undefeated in ACC play. Even missing quarterback Riley Leonard this past week, they leaned on the defense and run game to claim a 24-3 victory against NC State.

However, it’s hard to imagine Duke walking into Tallahassee and leaving with a win based on how Florida State has looked this season. The Seminoles have a special player in Jordan Travis, who through six games has thrown for 1,482 yards, 13 touchdowns and one interception. They continued to roll last week in a 41-3 win against Syracuse as Travis and Keon Coleman connected nine times for 140 yards and a touchdown.

No. 14 Utah at No. 18 USC (-4.5)

Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

Details: 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 21 on FOX
After skating by through the first few games of Pac-12 play, USC was exposed this past week in a 48-20 blowout loss against Notre Dame. Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams had one of the worst performances of his career to throw for three interceptions and the ground game wasn’t much better in averaging 2.8 yards per carry.

Utah enters this game among the top 10 teams in the country in both scoring defense and total defense, so it won’t get any easier for USC. The Utes offense has struggled so far this season as quarterback Cam Rising has yet to play, so there may be a shot for USC to bounce back if Rising remains out.

Clemson (-3) at Miami

Ken Ruinard-USA TODAY Sports

Details: 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 21 on ACC Network
Miami entered ACC play looking like a team that had a shot at competing for a spot in the conference title game after a 4-0 nonconference record. However, the Hurricanes have since dropped their opening two conference games and now face a Clemson team that has won back-to-back games.

The Tigers have similarly underperformed this season after dropping a game to Duke in the opening week, but have managed to get back in the win column against Syracuse and Wake Forest. Now the Tigers defense faces a tough task against Tyler Van Dyke and a Miami team that ranks No. 1 in the ACC in total offense.
