College GameDay: Picks for Week 1
College GameDay emulated from Charlotte, North Carolina today, ahead of the gigantic matchup between the Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers.
In-front of a raucous crowd, the College GameDay crew made their selections for Saturday’s games, with country music star Kane Brown joining as the guest picker.
Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack can’t be more excited for the return of college football, while Lee Corso and his head gear picks are back behind the desk. Now, the only thing left to do was to pick an exciting Saturday slate.
Here are all of College GameDay’s Week 1 picks:
Georgia vs. Clemson: Howard selected Clemson, while Brown, Pollack and Chris ‘Bear’ Fallica are riding with the Bulldogs. Herbstreit has the call tonight so he isn’t making a pick, but Corso made up for it with his dramatic selection.
“You can see my pick is easy, Clemson! … Not so fast my friends, THE YEAR OF THE DOG!” Corso said, as he selected the Bulldogs.
Alabama vs. Miami: “You’ve got a lot of nerve,” said Corso in response to Brown’s selection of Miami. The country star picked the Hurricanes, while the rest of the College GameDay crew goes with the Crimson Tide
Penn State at Wisconsin: Howard and Brown are picking Penn State, while Corso and Herbstreit are going with Wisconsin. “I’m just going with home-field advantage. Defense, and home-field advantage,” said Herbstreit.
LSU at UCLA: In the Tigers’ first game at the Rose Bowl, Howard and Brown are picking them to leave victorious. However, Corso and Herbstreit believe it won’t be a fun trip for LSU. “Forget that stats. UCLA is going to win this game as LSU’s been off balance due to (Hurricane) Ida,” said Corso.
Louisiana at Texas: “I gotta go Sark and the Longhorns baby!” exclaimed Howard. Everyone is on Texas today.
Indiana at Iowa: While Corso told the story about a legendary comeback victory for Indiana over Iowa, he’s the only one who believes history repeats. He’s picking Indiana, while everyone else selects Iowa.
West Virginia at Maryland: “I think Mike Locksley’s got an offense,” said Herbstreit. He’s selecting Maryland, along with Corso. However, Howard and Brown are riding with West Virginia.

Notre Dame vs. Florida State: No drama here. Everyone is going with Notre Dame
Louisville vs. Ole Miss: While Herbstreit didn’t make a selection as he’s calling the game Monday night, everyone believes in Ole Miss. Moreover, Corso mentioned that Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral is his Heisman pick.
