College GameDay: Picks for Week 2
College GameDay took place today from Ames, Iowa today, ahead of the gigantic matchup between the Iowa State Cyclones and Iowa Hawkeyes.
With a raucous crowd on-hand, the College GameDay crew made their selections for Saturday’s games, with That ’70s Show star Ashton Kutcher joining as the guest picker.
Kutcher, a former student at The University of Iowa, didn’t make many friends in Ames prior to his picks. On his way to the set, Kutcher pulled up in a combine, fitted with Hawkeyes flags.
While Kutcher wasn’t the most popular person among the Iowa State fans, the energy of a top-ten matchup was palpable. With anticipation growing, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit made their picks for an exciting Saturday slate.
Here are all of College GameDay’s Week 2 picks:
Iowa at Iowa State: In the highly anticipated matchup, Howard, Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica and David Pollack are picking Iowa State. To nobody’s surprise, Kutcher picked the Hawkeyes to get the victory.
After bringing out the Cy-Hawk Trophy, Corso started his soliloquy speaking about how Iowa State hasn’t defeated Iowa since 2014. He teased the crowd, and then made his selection.
“Forget about it! Hawkeyes in an upset!” exclaimed Corso, as he picked Iowa.
Oregon at Ohio State: “Ohio State big over Oregon today,” said Howard. Everyone in the College GameDay crew is on the Buckeyes.
Washington at Michigan: “I think the Washington defense is very underrated … but I’m gonna pick Michigan close,” said Herbstreit. While the game may be close, Howard, Kutcher, Corso and Herbstreit are all picking Michigan.
Texas at Arkansas: “This is a pick for my boy Matthew [McConaughey] — Alright, alright, alright! Hook em!” said Kutcher. Evidently, the rest of the crew believes McConaughey will be elated following the game, as they’re all picking the Longhorns.
Texas A&M at Colorado: “I think Jimbo’s offense is too much for Colorado,” said Herbstreit. Everyone agrees the Aggies will defeat the Buffaloes.
Pittsburgh at Tennessee: “This is a close one for me … I think Pitt wins the game,” said Kutcher. While Howard, Kutcher and Herbstreit are on Pittsburgh, Corso is picking Tennessee.
Rutgers at Syracuse: “I thought Rutgers looked great last week,” said Herbstreit. Moreover, Herbstreit isn’t the only one giving Greg Schiano’s team some love. Howard, Kutcher and Herbstreit picked the Scarlet Knights, while Corso went with Syracuse.

Missouri at Kentucky: “I’m taking the upset, I’m all Mizzou,” said Kutcher. Kutcher’s alone in his sentiment, as Howard, Corso and Herbstriet are picking Kentucky.
NC State at Mississippi State: “Not so fast my friend! The cowbells are the difference!” said Corso, in response to Kutcher’s NC State pick. However, Corso’s alone, as Howard and Herbstreit agree with Kutcher.
