College GameDay's Week 11 destination announced on ESPN
In addition to Texas A&M, ESPN’s College GameDay is headed to Oxford next weekend.
The crew will be on-site at Ole Miss as the No. 16 Rebels take on the No. 14 Aggies. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit made the announcement during the broadcast of the Alabama-LSU game on ESPN.
“Texas A&M at Ole Miss, that’s where College GameDay built by Home Depot [is headed],” Fowler said. “We’re going back to the Grove. We had such a wonderful time there back in ’14.”
College Gameday has visited Oxford just once; they went in 2014 for the Ole Miss-Alabama game. Ole Miss has been the visiting team for two additional GameDay games. They are 2-1 in the three contests.
“And those rankings will change after today with some of these upsets,” Herbstreit added. “Who knows where both of those teams will be, but we’ll find out Tuesday night. But it’ll be fun to bring GameDay back [to Oxford].”
Texas A&M has had worse luck when ESPN’s pregame show is involved in their games. They are 1-7 all-time.

Both 7-2 teams won on Saturday. Ole Miss defeated former head coach Hugh Freeze’s Liberty team while Texas A&M topped Auburn in College Station.
The game’s only touchdown came on a 24-yard return of a Bo Nix fumble by A&M defensive end Micheal Clemons early in the fourth quarter. Seth Small kicked four field goals for the Aggies.
The matchup will pit one of the best offenses in the country in Ole Miss against one of the best defenses in the country in Texas A&M. The Aggies were allowing 16.1 points per game entering Saturday, and they held Auburn three points.
The game kicks off at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN. The teams did not face each other last year due to COVID-19 issues. ESPN’s Football Power Index gives Ole Miss a 57.4% chance of notching their eighth win.
