The College World Series 2024 field pattern at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha was revealed Wednesday and it’s a good one.

Modeled after the NCAA trophy presented to the winner, the lines in the outfield make up a larger than life trophy. Hats off to the grounds crew there.

The field can be seen below.

Of the eight teams, all of them are from the ACC or SEC. It’s history for the College World Series, being the first time to only have two conference representatives since the tournament expanded in the late 1940s. Four from the ACC and four from the SEC, with conference pride on the line alongside a national championship.

While the Super Regionals were full of underdog stories, seven of the participants in Omaha were national seeds heading into the NCAA Tournament. Florida is the only one that did not host a regional, going through the Stillwater Regional and then winning the Clemson Regional in three games.

Arguably a controversial addition to the tournament field, the Gators have turned into one of the hottest teams in all of college baseball. Having Jac Caglianone on your roster certainly helps, being the best two-way player in the sport. A star of last year’s College World Series, Caglianone is once again set the shine on the biggest stage.

Games 1 and 2 of the College World Series are set to begin on Friday, with one side of the bracket getting things kicked off. Matchups have already been set, with North Carolina facing Virginia at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN and Tennessee playing Florida State as the nightcap. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Games 3 and 4 will take place on Saturday as the other bracket get their journeys in Omaha underway. Kentucky and NC State make up the second ACC vs. SEC matchup while Florida and Texas A&M will meet for the fourth time this season. Both start times and TV designations are the same as the day before.
