College World Series: Florida vs. Texas A&M start delayed due to weather
The start of Saturday’s College World Series game between Florida and Texas A&M has been delayed due to weather, the NCAA announced. According to the announcement, more updates would come with “potential weather” on the way.
Florida vs. Texas A&M is set to be the fourth game of the weekend in Omaha and the second of Saturday’s slate. They have quite the act to follow, though, after a historic first three games of the CWS.

Friday’s games saw back-to-back walk-offs, marking the first time in history that happened on opening day in history. Then, it happened again Saturday afternoon when Kentucky and NC State went to extra innings before the Wildcats pulled off yet another walk-off victory – the first time in history there were three straight such wins.
In the first game, North Carolina came out on top after Vance Honeycutt delivered in the clutch once again. the hero in the Super Regional – came up with a chance to seal the victory over Virginia and did just that, knocking a single to left field to give the Tar Heels the 3-2 victory to move on in the winners bracket.
That set up the nightcap, which saw an incredible comeback. Tennessee trailed Florida State by five runs at one point, but used a ninth-inning rally to avoid the upset.

Christian Moore hit a double with two outs to put runners on second and third, and Blake Burke tied it up at 11-11 one hitter later. Dylan Dreiling then the hero when he sent the walk-off double to left-center field to score Burke and give Tennessee the 12-11 win.
As if that wasn’t enough, Saturday’s opener again saw some fireworks. NC State and Kentucky went back-and-forth in the ninth inning, and the game headed to extras.
Mitchell Daly came up with the biggest swing of the day for Kentucky, launching a home run over the left field fence in the 10th inning to seal the walk-off victory. It’s not only the third consecutive game-winner in Omaha, but the 15th of the NCAA Tournament. That set a new record for the current format, which began in 1999, according to SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic.
The College World Series format features two brackets in a double-elimination format starting Friday and Saturday. Then, the final two teams will square off in a best-of-three series starting June 22.
