When the initial bracket was released, Stanford was the No. 2 overall seed and given the rights to host a Regional. Not only did they earn the Pac-12 regular-season title with a 21-9 record, but a conference tournament championship trophy was heading back to Palo Alto for the first time ever.
To celebrate their achievements, players rushed toward the pitcher’s mound to get the festivities rolling. It’s been a long season of top-quality work for Stanford and getting to Omaha has to feel like a sigh of relief.
