College wrestling rankings: InterMat updates all 10 weight classes after Week 11

The latest InterMat rankings are in following Week 11 of the season with the second semester upon us and conference duals in full swing.

Some wild matches and weight changes caused some changes to the wrestling rankings. Unfortunately, injuries did the same.

Let’s dive into the latest InterMat rankings, seeing No. 1 through 10 in each weight class.

125 lbs.

1. Matt Ramos, Purdue
2. Richie Figueroa, Arizona State (+1)
3. Vince Robinson, NC State (+8)
4. Troy Spratley, Oklahoma State (-2)
5. Eddie Ventresca, Virginia Tech (-1)
6. Caleb Smith, Nebraska (+1)
7. Cooper Flynn, Minnesota (-2)
8. Stevo Poulin, Northern Colorado (-2)
9. Maximo Renteria, Oregon State (+4)
10. Dean Peterson, Rutgers (+6)

Figueroa returned to action and moved up a spot this week, now 3-1 on the season. Robinson made a huge jump by beating Spratley head to head Monday. Peterson’s been on a tear, is now 16-2 and back in the top 10. Jore Volk (Wyoming) is also out for the season, so thus he is removed from the rankings.

133 lbs.

InterMat rankings Week 2
Ryan Crookham/Lehigh Athletics

1. Ryan Crookham, Lehigh
2. Lucas Byrd, Illinois
3. Zeth Romney, Cal Poly
4. Drake Ayala, Iowa
5. Braeden Davis, Penn State
6. Evan Frost, Iowa State (+2)
7. Nasir Bailey, Arkansas-Little Rock (-1)
8. Tyler Knox, Stanford (+2)
9. Dylan Shawver, Rutgers (+8)
10. Nic Bouzakis, Ohio State (-1)

Crookham is still No. 1 in these rankings despite reports of him being out of the season or at the very least, having his postseason in jeopardy with an elbow injury. Frost went up two spots, Knox moved up and Shawver is back in the top 10 following a massive win over Bouzakis.

141 lbs.

1. Jesse Mendez, Ohio State
2. Andrew Alirez, Northern Colorado
3. Beau Bartlett, Penn State
4. Tagen Jamison, Oklahoma State
5. Cael Happel, Northern Iowa
6. Brock Hardy, Nebraska
7. Josh Koderhandt, Navy
8. Vance Vombaur, Minnesota
9. CJ Composto, UPenn
10. Sam Latona, Virginia Tech (+1)

The top nine didn’t change here except for Chris Cannon (Northwestern) dropping to No. 23. He’s 1-3 this year and hasn’t wrestled much. With that, Latona gets jumped up one spot this week at 141.

149 lbs.

2. Shayne Van Ness, Penn State
3. Kyle Parco, Iowa (+1)
4. Ridge Lovett, Nebraska (+1)
5. Lachlan McNeil, North Carolina (+1)
6. Chance Lamer, Cal Poly (+1)
7. Jaden Abas, Stanford (+1)
8. Ty Whalen, Princeton (+2)
9. Dylan D’Emilio, Ohio State (+3)
10. Jordan Williams, Arkansas-Little Rock (+3)

Ty Watters (West Virginia) is out for the season, so he’s out of the rankings. Others shift up int the rankings with D’Emilio and Williams cracking the top 10 this year. They are 12-1 and 16-2, respectively.

157 lbs.

Iowa Athletics

1. Jacori Teemer, Iowa
2. Meyer Shapiro, Cornell
3. Tyler Kasak, Penn State (+1)
4. Ryder Downey, Northern Iowa (+1)
5. Antrell Taylor, Nebraska (-2)
6. Ethen Miller, Maryland
7. Joey Blaze, Purdue
8. Cody Chittum, Iowa State
9. Tommy Askey, Minnesota (+1)
10. Trevor Chumbley, Northwestern (+1)

The top eight remained the same and Askey and Chumbley moved up a spot. Ohio State’s Sammy Sasso is now at 157 after dropping a weight class and is at No. 17, knocking teammate Paddy Gallagher out of the rankings. He was No. 9 last week.

165 lbs.

2. Mikey Caliendo, Iowa
3. Peyton Hall, West Virginia
4. Julian Ramirez, Cornell
5. Terrell Barraclough, Utah Valley
6. Cameron Amine, Oklahoma State
7. Bubba Wilson, Nebraska
8. Will Miller, Appalachian State
9. Andrew Sparks, Minnesota
10. Drake Rhodes, South Dakota State (+2)

The top nine didn’t shift this week with three undefeated wrestlers at the top of 165 right now. Rhodes moved up two spots and is now 17-3 on the season, continuing his stellar sophomore campaign.

174 lbs.

1. Keegan O’Toole, Missouri
2. Levi Haines, Penn State
3. Dean Hamiti, Oklahoma State
4. Lorenzo Norman, Stanford
5. Patrick Kennedy, Iowa
6. Carson Kharchla, Ohio State (+3)
7. Nick Incontrera, UPenn (-1)
8. Gaven Sax, Oklahoma (+2)
9. Alex Cramer, Central Michigan (+13)
10. Garrett Thompson, Ohio (-3)

O’Toole is still on the mend but the top five remained the same this week. Kharchla is now 6-0 and just beat Jackson Turley (Rutgers) 3-2 over the weekend. Sax bumped up two spots and Cramer makes his top 10 debut. He’s 14-3 for Central Michigan this season.

2. Parker Keckeisen, Northern Iowa
3. Dustin Plott, Oklahoma State
4. Max McEnelly, Minnesota
5. Gabe Arnold, Iowa
6. Bennett Berge, South Dakota State (+1)
7. Silas Allred, Nebraska (-1)
8. Chris Foca, Cornell
9. Colton Hawks, Missouri
10. Edmond Ruth, Illinois

The top 10 remained the same this week aside from a slight shift with Berge and Allred switching spots. Starocci, Keckeisen, Plott and McEnelly are all unbeaten this season and Plott is 11-1.

197 lbs.

6. Michael Beard, Lehigh

No changes in the rankings this week as far as the top 10 is concerned. Ferrari, Buchanan, Cardenas and Barr are all undefeated. Little, Beard and Surber all have one loss this year. This is a loaded weight this season.

The heavyweights didn’t change in the top 10 either as the top 10 remained the same as last week. Hendrickson looks dominant in Oklahoma State orange right now, going 12-0 to this point. Feldman beat Slavikouski 4-1 to clinch Ohio State’s thrilling victory over Rutgers Sunday.
