College wrestling rankings: InterMat updates all 10 weight classes after Week 14
The latest InterMat rankings are in following Week 14 of the season as we are fully into February and the action didn’t disappoint.
Duals are getting intense, we’re seeing upsets and starting to look ahead to the postseason. Also, we have a new No. 1 after an intense dual!
Let’s dive into the latest InterMat rankings, seeing No. 1 through 10 in each weight class.
125 lbs.
1. Matt Ramos, Purdue
2. Richie Figueroa, Arizona State
3. Vince Robinson, NC State
4. Troy Spratley, Oklahoma State
5. Eddie Ventresca, Virginia Tech
6. Stevo Poulin, Northern Colorado
7. Luke Lilledahl, Penn State
8. Caleb Smith, Nebraska
9. Cooper Flynn, Minnesota
10. Dean Peterson, Rutgers
125 pounds didn’t see any changes in the top 10 this week. Ramos is still undefeated (21-0) on the season. Peterson didn’t wrestle Flynn this past weekend, as the latter didn’t go out for Minnesota’s win over Rutgers.

133 lbs.
1. Ryan Crookham, Lehigh
2. Zeth Romney, Cal Poly
3. Drake Ayala, Iowa
4. Lucas Byrd, Illinois
5. Evan Frost, Iowa State
6. Tyler Knox, Stanford
7. Braeden Davis, Penn State
8. Nasir Bailey, Arkansas-Little Rock
9. Dylan Shawver, Rutgers
10. Nic Bouzakis, Ohio State
Another weight class with no changes in the top 10 as we await the potential return of Crookham to the mat. Ayala didn’t get to wrestle Davis when the two teams squared off last Friday. This is a loaded and open weight.
141 lbs.
1. Jesse Mendez, Ohio State
2. Andrew Alirez, Northern Colorado
3. Beau Bartlett, Penn State
4. Cael Happel, Northern Iowa (+1)
5. Tagen Jamison, Oklahoma State (-1)
6. Brock Hardy, Nebraska
7. Josh Koderhandt, Navy
8. Vance Vombaur, Minnesota
9. CJ Composto, UPenn
10. Sam Latona, Virginia Tech
Did anybody wrestle this weekend? Just kidding, but there are no changes in the top 10 this week. The top three are all still unbeaten on the season with Happel and Jamison rounding out the top five with a combined 33-5 record.
149 lbs.
1. Caleb Henson, Virginia Tech
2. Ridge Lovett, Nebraska (+1)
3. Shayne Van Ness, Penn State (+1)
4. Kyle Parco, Iowa (-2)
5. Lachlan McNeil, North Carolina
6. Chance Lamer, Cal Poly
7. Paniro Johnson, Iowa State (+1)
8. Dylan D’Emilio, Ohio State (+1
9. Jaden Abas, Stanford (-2)
10. Sammy Alvarez, Rider
Finally some changes! Henson is still No. 1 but Lovett and Van Ness move up, with the latter beating Parco head to head. Otherwise, it’s the same group of wrestlers in the top 10.
157 lbs.
1. Tyler Kasak, Penn State (+2)
2. Meyer Shapiro, Cornell
3. Jacori Teemer, Iowa (-2)
4. Antrell Taylor, Nebraska
5. Ryder Downey, Northern Iowa
6. Ethen Miller, Maryland
7. Joey Blaze, Purdue
8. Tommy Askey, Minnesota
9. Trevor Chumbley, Northwestern
10. Rafael Hipolito, Virginia Tech
We have a new No. 1! Kasak is now 13-0 on the season after beating Teemer head to head. The latter is now 3-2 on the season after dealing with injuries. The top 10 cast is virtually the same, but we might be thinking about a Kasas vs. Shapiro final in March.
165 lbs.
1. Mitchell Mesenbrink, Penn State
2. Mikey Caliendo, Iowa
3. Peyton Hall, West Virginia
4. Julian Ramirez, Cornell
5. Terrell Barraclough, Utah Valley
6. Cameron Amine, Oklahoma State
7. Will Miller, Appalachian State
8. Christopher Minto, Nebraska
9. Paddy Gallagher, Ohio State
10. Beau Mantanona, Michigan

No changes this week at 165 but there’s a significant gap between Mesenbrink and Caliendo at this point. He’s now 4-0 against Hawkeye and just beat him 19-4 in the dual last Friday. But man, Caliendo might be a tier above everyone else and meet Mesenbrink in the Big Ten and NCAA finals.
174 lbs.
1. Keegan O’Toole, Missouri
2. Levi Haines, Penn State
3. Dean Hamiti, Oklahoma State
4. Lorenzo Norman, Stanford
5. Carson Kharchla, Ohio State
6. Patrick Kennedy, Iowa
7. Garrett Thompson, Ohio (+1)
8. Alex Cramer, Central Michigan (-1)
9. Cade DeVos, South Dakota State
10. Nick Incontrera, UPenn
Thompson and Cramer switched spots this week in the only change at 174 in the top 10. Cramer lost to Thompson 13-1 on Sunday. O’Toole is due back from injury by the end of the month. He, Hamiti and Kharchla are all undefeated.
184 lbs.
1. Carter Starocci, Penn State
2. Parker Keckeisen, Northern Iowa
3. Dustin Plott, Oklahoma State
4. Max McEnelly, Minnesota
5. Gabe Arnold, Iowa
6. Bennett Berge, South Dakota State
7. Silas Allred, Nebraska
8. Chris Foca, Cornell
9. Colton Hawks, Missouri
10. Evan Bockman, Iowa State
No changes in the top 10 this week and we missed out on Starocci vs. Arnold. The latter did not weigh in for the Penn State-Iowa dual as true freshman Angelo Ferrari got the nod and held Starocci to a 3-1 decision. There’s Starocci, Keckeisen and then everyone else.
197 lbs.
1. Stephen Buchanan, Iowa
2. Jacob Cardenas, Michigan
3. AJ Ferrari, CSU Bakersfield
4. Josh Barr, Penn State
5. Stephen Little, Arkansas-Little Rock
6. Michael Beard, Lehigh
7. Luke Surber, Oklahoma State
8. Andy Smith, Virginia Tech
9. Isaiah Salazar, Minnesota
10. Mac Sout, Pittsburgh
Lots of stagnant top 10 rankings this week as 197 had no changes either. Buchanan handed Barr his first loss of the season so it’s just the No. 1, Cardenas and Ferrari as the unbeatens in this weight class.
285 lbs.
1. Gable Steveson, Minnesota
2. Greg Kerkvliet, Penn State
3. Wyatt Hendrickson, Oklahoma State
4. Isaac Trumble, NC State
5. Cohlton Schultz, Arizona State
6. Owen Trephan, Lehigh
7. Yaraslau Slavikouski, Rutgers (+1)
8. Josh Heindselman, Michigan (+1)
9. Nick Feldman, Ohio State (-2)
10. Luke Luffman, Illinois
Just some slight changes here. Heinselman beat Feldman head to head so there’s some shifting and Slavikouski actually moved up because of that. Although he was pinned by Steveson Sunday, it’s hard to penalize someone losing to the Gopher.
