The latest InterMat rankings are in following Week 17 of the season as we are finally ready to turn the page to the individual postseason!
With these rankings, people can start predicting NCAA seeds ahead of the conference tournaments. It’s the best time of the year folks!
Let’s dive into the latest InterMat rankings, looking at No. 1 through 10 in each weight class.
125 lbs.
1. Matt Ramos, Purdue
2. Richie Figueroa, Arizona State
3. Troy Spratley, Oklahoma State (+1)
4. Eddie Ventresca, Virginia Tech (-1)
5. Vince Robinson, NC State (-2)
6. Stevo Poulin, Northern Colorado
7. Caleb Smith, Nebraska
8. Luke Lilledahl, Penn State (+1)
9. Sheldon Seymour, Lehigh (+1)
10. Spencer Moore, North Carolina (+1)
There were some shifts at 125, including Moore getting into the top 10. Rutgers’ Dean Peterson fell to No. 11 with a loss to Penn’s Max Gallagher last Wednesday. Ramos is the lone unbeaten wrestler in this weight class.

133 lbs.

1. Ryan Crookham, Lehigh
2. Drake Ayala, Iowa
3. Lucas Byrd, Illinois
4. Evan Frost, Iowa State
5. Braxton Brown, Maryland
6. Braeden Davis, Penn State (+1)
7. Nasir Bailey, Arkansas-Little Rock (+1)
8. Ethan Oakley, North Carolina (+3)
9. Tyler Knox, Stanford (-3)
10. Zeth Romney, Cal Poly (-1)
Still no Crookham and now we wait to see if Lehigh will bring him back for EIWAs. It’s a shame since he’s been holding the No. 1 ranking for so long while being inactive due to injury. Oakley is in the top 10 after beating Knox. That knocked some guys down, including All-American Dylan Shawver (Rutgers) to No. 11.
141 lbs.
1. Beau Bartlett, Penn State
2. Jesse Mendez, Ohio State
3. Andrew Alirez, Northern Colorado
4. Cael Happel, Northern Iowa
5. Tagen Jamison, Oklahoma State
6. Brock Hardy, Nebraska
7. Josh Koderhandt, Navy
8. Vance Vombaur, Minnesota
9. CJ Composto, UPenn
10. Sam Latona, Virginia Tech
No changes in this weight this week as Bartlett, Mendez and Alirez are the top contenders for the national title. We’re likely getting a Bartlett-Mendez Big Ten final for their fifth matchup in two years.
149 lbs.
1. Caleb Henson, Virginia Tech
2. Shayne Van Ness, Penn State
3. Kyle Parco, Iowa
4. Ridge Lovett, Nebraska
5. Ethan Stiles, Oregon State (+3)
6. Lachlan McNeil, North Carolina (-1)
7. Dylan D’Emilio, Ohio State (-1)
8. Paniro Johnson, Iowa State (-1)
9. Chance Lamer, Cal Poly
10. Colin Realbuto, Northern Iowa (+5)
The top four are intact this week with Stiles moving to No. 5 and the freshman will go into Pac-12s with a 14-4 record. Other than that, it’s the same crew as last week, as far as the top 10 goes.
157 lbs.

1. Tyler Kasak, Penn State
2. Meyer Shapiro, Cornell
3. Jacori Teemer, Iowa
4. Antrell Taylor, Nebraska
5. Ethen Miller, Maryland
6. Ryder Downey, Northern Iowa
7. Joey Blaze, Purdue
8. Tommy Askey, Minnesota
9. Trevor Chumbley, Northwestern
10. Rafael Hipolito, Virginia Tech (+2)
The top nine are all the same this week going into the postseason. However Hipolito is in the top 10, pushing Ohio State’s Brandon Cannon to No. 11 in these rankings. Big Tens should be insane with Kasak, Teemer, Taylor and Miller and Blaze in a loaded weight.
165 lbs.
1. Mitchell Mesenbrink, Penn State
2. Mikey Caliendo, Iowa
3. Terrell Barraclough, Utah Valley
4. Peyton Hall, West Virginia
5. Julian Ramirez, Cornell
6. Cameron Amine, Oklahoma State
7. Will Miller, Appalachian State
8. Christopher Minto, Nebraska
9. Paddy Gallagher, Ohio State
10. Beau Mantanona, Michigan

No changes at 165 this week as this weight class is run by Mesenbrink. He’s unbeaten and the overwhelming favorite to win the NCAA title. Caliendo handled Amine this weekend as Iowa beat Oklahoma State in front of the home fans.
174 lbs.
1. Keegan O’Toole, Missouri
2. Levi Haines, Penn State
3. Dean Hamiti, Oklahoma State
4. Carson Kharchla, Ohio State (+1)
5. Lorenzo Norman, Stanford (-1)
6. Garrett Thompson, Ohio
7. Cade DeVos, South Dakota State (+1)
8. Lenny Pinto, Nebraska (+2)
9. Alex Cramer, Central Michigan (-2)
10. Patrick Kennedy, Iowa (+1)
The top three are intact for 174 this week as Kharchla inches closer. Pinto moved up a bit with Cramer taking a bit of a dip after a loss to Michigan’s Brock Mantanona. Kennedy is in the top 10 despite not wrestling this weekend with Iowa instead using Nelson Brands.
184 lbs.

1. Carter Starocci, Penn State
2. Parker Keckeisen, Northern Iowa
3. Dustin Plott, Oklahoma State
4. Max McEnelly, Minnesota
5. Bennett Berge, South Dakota State
6. Chris Foca, Cornell
7. Silas Allred, Nebraska
8. Gabe Arnold, Iowa
9. Evan Bockman, Iowa State (+1)
10. Colton Hawks, Missouri (-1)
The top eight are intact this week as Arnold rounds them out. He didn’t wrestle against Oklahoma State, but it was freshman Angelo Ferrari knocking off Plott in sudden victory in an all-time moment. Bockman and Hawks flipped spots after the final weekend.
197 lbs.
1. Stephen Buchanan, Iowa
2. Josh Barr, Penn State
3. Jacob Cardenas, Michigan
4. AJ Ferrari, CSU Bakersfield
5. Michael Beard, Lehigh
6. Luke Surber, Oklahoma State
7. Stephen Little, Arkansas-Little Rock
8. Isaiah Salazar, Minnesota
9. Trey Munoz, Oregon State
10. Mac Sout, Pittsburgh
The top 10 remained the same at 197 and if we’re looking at the scariest dude, it has to be Buchanan. He’s been on a different planet this season. But this weight is loaded with Barr’s emergence, Cardenas, Ferrari being a 2021 NCAA champ and Munoz looking healthy. Among the rest of course.
285 lbs.
1. Gable Steveson, Minnesota
2. Greg Kerkvliet, Penn State
3. Wyatt Hendrickson, Oklahoma State
4. Isaac Trumble, NC State
5. Owen Trephan, Lehigh (+1)
6. Cohlton Schultz, Arizona State (-1)
7. Yaraslau Slavikouski, Rutgers
8. Josh Heindselman, Michigan
9. Nick Feldman, Ohio State
10. Luke Luffman, Illinois
The top four are the same at heavyweight with Trephan moving up a spot and remaining undefeated. What a move from NC State to Lehigh. Other than that, the top 10 guys are the same as last week.
